It's comparable to a Mod rack room price. I always compare prices with all Disney resort options and (for us) once we add in the resort fee and then parking fee it raises the price up another $50 per night and it is now comparable to WL or AKL discounted room.

If we get the chance to do that we always start with the moderate like POFQ (which we love anyway) and switch it up to something like AKL or Poly. This time we are doing just that...POFQ for 10 days and moving to AKL for 4 days. I don't think you will go wrong whatever you chose...we just like to leave with a bang! lol

We have done AKL to Pop and it isn't a problem. Two very different vacations in 1. Relaxed, subdued to fun, in your face. I love the dichotomy!

As some previous posters have indicated, I too would not hesitate to go from a deluxe to a mod. However, I would definitely not go from a deluxe to a value--maybe the other way around if I needed a few extra nights on the front end. Good luck with your plans and it's all Disney after all.

Have a great visit OP! Both have in/outside bars ... and make decent drinks
Hokey but fun free show at POR...ck the schedule. Boat to DS is relaxing and 25 minutes I think... you ll see the treehouses on the way too and a golf course etc.
u can walk easily between both resorts, lighted path along the Sassaghoula river.. 10 minutes and easy... worth a visit to POR which is beautiful , large gift shop with more than POFQ, and imho a much better food court as well... I think pool at POFQ more babyish ( design/slide) and better for younger kids and POR can do both.. great water slide at POR

Thank you so much!!!! We cant wait! We have decided to go with FQ! Is the pool slide able to be used by older kids/teens? Or its really only for little ones? We will definitely go checkout the Riverside one though too!

POFQ is our favorite due to size and proximity to pool, food court, everything is close. We have DD7 and DS4, and always request 1st floor building 5 facing courtyard where they have the movie and Cajun campfire. We are close to everything, even boat ramp.
Even when we stay at deluxe we
always talk about how POFQ sets up well for our family.

awesome! Thank you! I was trying to look at pictures. It looked like Riverside pool was bigger. Was that just the pictures or no? is there a pool bar at French quarter too?

I do think that the Riverside pool is bigger. I just prefer the theme of the French Quarter pool. I think it is more fun. I don't remember a pool bar at French Quarter, but I can't say for sure.

The All Stars are the same way, sister resorts.

Well where were you last year when I was at All Star Movies and wanting to go to the All Star Music pool but didn't think I could? Jk. Thanks for the information. I didn't realize that the All Stars were also good for pool hopping, though that makes perfect sense.
