Will We End Up Ruining Free Dining?

Have you already made a ressie during the free dining promo being offered to the UK?

  • Yes -- I made the ressie and will cancel if the promo isn't offered.

  • I made the ressie but will go whether the promo is offered or not.

  • I'm just eagerly waiting for the offer and will reserve as soon as it's made available.

  • You couldn't pay me to visit WDW during the weeks free dining is offered.

I am taking my parents for their 35th wedding anniversary in August. Hope that Disney offers free dining but will go wether it is offered or not, have already booked for the dinning plan, just find the dining plan very convienent for us.

I am booking for August 18-27 or 28, 2007. It will be birthday presents for my kids, one has a March b-day and the other 4th of July b-day.
I have no plans of cancelling if free dining isnt offered, but free dining would be nice.

So for those of you had free dining what did you pay for 2-adults 1-jr and 1 child, for 9-10 days at POP or POR. Just too see what the ball park figure was for the rack rate w/ free dining.

I plan hopefully on going back for Christmas 2007. It will be our last vacation until i finish nursing school.

There's always the chance, too, that enough people will move to the UK to qualify for free dining that the whole island will tip over and sink.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned.

hi

We stayed 7 nights at POP during free dining, 2 adults and 2 kids (4 and 6) for $1530. Excellent deal I think. :thumbsup2

We booked for August next year already, but not with free dining in mind- we booked for several reasons:
we honeymooned there and this will be our 10 year aniv.
we don't want to pull the kids out of school
and I am also in school and the week we booked is my first week off from school - I only get 2 and my second week is my kids first week of school.
IF they offer free dining that would be a great bonus, but we'll be going regardless-I'm still debating if we should add the dining plan if it is not offered. We'll see!!

I went with my entire family of 4 for the free dining during August 2005. I loved it so much, I went back Aug 2006 with my boys. The last week of August was awesome. It is a perfect time to visit.

Unfortunately, DS, who will be in 9th grade next year, may actually have a chance to move up to Varsity soccer (a very rare opportunity for a 9th grader). If so, he can never miss pre season soccer again for any reason. So, he will never return to Disney in August.

I am hoping that if free dining returns, I will take my younger DS for a quick trip or book a "girl friends" trip in early September for a long weekend. I don't think I could ever pass on an opportunity for free dining, but I would never plan a trip in advance on the chance that it may be offered again.

DH and I will wait for the offer and go again in September.. If they don't offer DDP then we will book for December and add DDP....WE LOVED IT !!

I also booked while DH was in a cooperative mood :rotfl: .

:rotfl2: Me, too!!!
In fact, we booked our trip 3 weeks after our return from our Sept. 06 trip. Not in hopes of free dining, although free dining would be nice. We're going no matter what from 8/21 - 8/31, only b/c DD5 starts Kinder next year and I don't want to pull her out in Sept.

Also, my feelings are, since this is the first time they are offering it to UK residents, they may not offer it to US residents this time. I did hear on another thread that they are offering free dining to people who are vacationing now and if they book and drop their deposit, they would qualify for free dining during the UK dates. :confused3 Who knows... just keep those fingers crossed. :thumbsup2

I haven't booked yet but plan to as soon as we get our tax returns. We are going to go regardless, but I do hope they give us free dining. I'm booking a moderate, but if they don't offer the DDP free we will probably downgrade to a value so we can afford it anyway. I am using the dates of the past free dining and scheduling Sept. 29 and the following week just in case. Otherwise I'd probably book just a week or two after that because we definately want to go to MNSSHP and F & W.

Disney has traditionally offered great deals during hurricane season. Before free dining you had the pay for 4 or 5 and play for 7 promotion. Before that Disney discounted room rates by about 45%.

Book by November 6, 2006 for arrivals between August 12, 2007 and September 29, 2007.

The only way to tell for sure is for someone to book a trip since this offer has now expired.

I booked our trip for August as soon as the 2007 dates became available and prior to this promotion. Summer camp is over, daycare is closed and school doesn't start until the following week so this is our vacation week.

I am hoping that free dining will happen, but if it doesn't we still we be going. I booked our trip using AAA so I got some discount already.

Going to be there September 4th-14th. We've been lucky enough to have free dining the last two years, a third year will be even more special. But we go in September for the low crowds and our anniversary.

We don't have anything booked yet (nor do I intend to at this point). The only way you could get me to Florida in Aug/Sep would be with free dining. My family really prefers to visit from late Oct to early Dec...preferably at a time all the Christmas decorations are up.

Of course the reality of it is we might have to change our whole vacation pattern as my DD will be entering high school next year and I'm thinking it won't be as easy to pull her out of school for a few days anymore.

We did the free dining last month and the one thing I really liked was that it forced us to slow down a bit. I feel very fickle as the reason we never did table service on prior visits is because we didn't want to spend any less time on the attractions. I have now realized that there are more things to enjoy at WDW than just the rides.

We have AKL booked for 8/15 - 8/23...we are going regardless of the free dining but it sure would help!! We have 6 kids ( 15, 13, 10, 8, 5, 4) ...it would save us a WHOLE lot of money!!!!

You couldn't pay me to do it. I like my lines short, and my restaurants quiet (relatively, that is).

I agree with you Chester's Mum. By accident we were at DisneyWorld this year during the "free dining" promotion. We stayed at the Swan thus did not have free dining. I have never encounted so many rude people at DisneyWorld. If free food brings out the worst in folks then I will choose a different time of the year to go - when the lines are shorter and folks tend to remember their manners.
