Will we be able to ride if we don't use FP+??

I've been reading reviews on the FP off and on. I'm still not even 100% sure how to set ours up, and I'm not sure I want to.

Now its been 7years since we last went to WDW, at that time I think twice we grabbed the paper FP. Both times we got our paper, time span, and wondered on some shorter rides while we waited.

I am not sure I like the idea of our day be scheduled around times and rides. We will already have time limits to get our few TS meals, now to worry about getting to our ride?

We are going 'slow' season, the August 23-29, so can we survive without FP+, or will we not get on any good rides if we don't?

I'm not worried about the other glitches and such I'm reading about now, ( maybe by August all will be fixed:rotfl2:) I'm just concerned with over scheduling our vacation.

Customize your MB's and book your FP attractions 60 days out. You don't have to use it if you don't want to once you're there, but it's better to have fp reservations booked then none at all. :goodvibes

You don't want to wait standby all day for everything if you don't have to. :)

Of course, you can always ride standby, but that means lines for every attraction. Maybe consider setting up your MDE account for a starter, and then investigate FP+ a little more. Kind of a one step at a time approach if it feels overwhelming to plan out the whole thing. :goodvibes

You'll be able to ride everything without FP+. I will caution that there have been a good number of reports that a lot of the attractions have seen an uptick in stand-by wait times since FP+ was introduced to the masses, so a solid RD strategy would be best. Those first couple of hours after park opening are worth their weight in gold as far as wait times are concerned.

If you're inclined to make FP+ reservations you'll need to link both your Disney resort and ticket confirmation numbers to your MDE account. At 60 days out you'll then be able to make selections for each day and those selections (3) must be in the same park.

Since it is slow season, do not worry. We hit all rides yesterday at MK in 5hours except stitch, space mountain, big thunder, and enchanted tales with belle. The first 3 are not preferences of my little ones and the last one was closed for fireworks. We also met talking Mickey and rode buzz 3 times. We did not start touring until1:30pm.

My suggestion is to book a headliner (space mountain, toy story midway mania, soarin, etc) around the time you have a TS. That way you do not feel that your whole day is planned. We have been here 4 days and have yet to use all 3 FP+ in a day. Enjoy!

Yes...if the rides are crucial plan to arrive 30 min. before rope drop. Use the easywdw.com touring plans and best days for your week in August. :thumbsup2

Yes, you will ABSOLUTELY be able to ride, and you won't even have to wait in lines longer than 20 minutes if you have a good touring plan.

Get there before rope drop to ride the big rides. Use the distraction of parades to get in another couple rides on a headliner. Know which parks are most recommended (go to EasyWDW.com and look at his free cheat sheets).

However, even if you do all this, I'd still recommend giving FP+ a chance. It can only enhance your experience, not take away from it. I know the website can seem a little intimidating, but it's really not that hard.

1. Sign up for an account at disneyworld.disney.go.com, and enter your resort confirmation number and ticket numbers. Don't hesitate to call Disney if you find this part difficult. They'll walk you through it. (And if you're worried about long distance charges, use 10-10-7-10 for a flat rate of 1 dollar from anywhere in North America - rates from other countries vary.)

2. Open up this page: http://www.easywdw.com/uncategorized/magic-kingdom-cheat-sheet-day-1and-fastpass-kiosks-part-1 Scroll about halfway down the post, to where you see pictures of the Disney website.

3. Follow Josh's step-by-step instructions for choosing your FP+ experiences.

Don't worry if they're not perfect, you can always change them later.

You can do this! :thumbsup2
