I need campsite ressies at FW from Jan 10-15, 2008. I've tried calling but keep getting told there's no availability. However, if I go online and try to book from 12/30-1/15 (because online ressies currently have to start by 12/30/07) I can get availability. If I book this long ressie online, can I then call Disney and cut off the dates I don't need or will this trigger them to create a new reservation and then I'll still get the "no availability" message?

Also, if I book online the ressie will be at peak season prices. If I can cut off the dates I don't need, I'll be in value season. Will the system adjust my rate or will I be stuck paying peak price?

Any advice appreciated.

I haven't booked on line before, but given your circumstance, I would go ahead and book the dates you want on line. Then I'd call back and cut down the reservation to the days needed. I know I've made reservatiohns by phone for more days than I've actually required because I wasn't positive about the travel dates and then called and reduced the number of days to those I actually needed. I don't see why having made the original reservation on line would make any differece. I assume your rate would be based on your day of arrival..if that were to change after you alter the reservation, I don't see why that wouldn't be credited to you. I'm sure there are folks here that will come along that have made reservations by computer and then altered them by phone that can give you their exact experience.

Have you tried calling and reserving from 12/30-1/15? That should work, then when 2008 is available to book, just call back and cancel the days you don't want. Like the previous poster said, your price is based on your day of arrival, so yes, you would get the lower price. :)

Well, for anyone who was wondering how this turned out, I got it all worked out. I called CRO and the first CM was hopeless and very unhelpful. Said "thank you" and called back. Got a very helpful and fun CM named Renaldo who looked into it for me. He didn't know the website would let you book from the end of Dec. 2007 into 2008, so that was news to him. He tried it and it worked for him and he was like "cool."

So he took my question to his supervisor to see if he could do the same booking on his computer, since it wasn't initially showing up for him. They got it to work and the super said that I could go ahead and book from Dec. 30-Jan. 15 and then, after the first week of Jan., (I gather that after the first week of Jan. they will have 2008 fully ready for booking) call back and drop the dates I don't need. He confirmed that I would then be in value season so the rate would drop. I paid my deposit based on peak rates, so basically I'll have two nights paid for once I drop into value season.

So for anyone looking to book early 2008 and having trouble, if you start your reservation on or before 12/30/07, they can get it to book into 2008 and you can modify later.
