Will they hold our luggage after checkout?

My family just booked airline tickets for our trip to WDW in January. Our return plane doesn't leave untill 5pm on the day of checkout. We will be using magical express so, I know we won't have to worry about our main luggage, but will they hold our carry-on bags for us so we can go to one of the parks for the morning? I'm assuming that checkout is somewhere around noon. We will be staying at AKL, but I assume the policy is the same in all the Disney resorts. Thanks!

Yes they will hold your luggage and carry ons for you after you check out.

They will definitely hold your luggage for you. They will give you a claim ticket and when you come back just present that ticket and then all your luggage and carryons will be given back to you or they will load it right into your car. I don't know how ME works so maybe it's already loaded onto that vehicle for you. That you would have to check out.

If you are flying one of the specific airlines offering the service (Delta, American, Song, others I can't remember) you can now check you bags and get your actual boarding passes at the resort. No waiting in line at the airport (go straight to security) or lugging you bags with you. Go to the transportation board and search for DME and you can get more info.

Just an FYI---it took them a long time to find our luggage in the holding room last year. Whatever system they were using at POR wasn't working that day! It didn't help that our luggage was black and looked like every other one in that room. This year I'm putting something bright on the handles.

I have markers on our luggage also because it's black just like everyone else's and I want to spot mine when it comes down the turnstile at the airports. I took an old red shirt of my husband's and just tore them into strips and tied them onto the handle of all our luggage and we find them easily now.
