personally i want BK but i doubt it, although there is hope with the building of EE.
DTD (under a different name) opened in 1975. Pleasure Island opened in 1989. The area was renamed DTD in 1997, and West Side opened in 1999. Thus DTD is in no way a response to Universal City Walk.civileng68 said:If Disney wants to add this sort of thing because they want it for them, then fine. I personally don't really like the idea of unicorns. However, that's just me.
However, if Disney does it to compete with companies like Universal's IOA, then I see a big problem.
Disney has already said to have designed DTD because of Universal's CW, and Animal Kingdom to compete with Tampa's Busch Gardens. I think that's fine but that's the limit. Whether Disney has unicorns in folklore or not, and even though Disney has attractions that have nothing to do with Disney, something about Unicorns just doens't sit right with me.

Beastly Kingdom was the only other area that was designed for the parks opening. I am curious what you feel the parks original promises was. The park said that is a "kingdom of animals ... real, ancient and imagined." It seems to me that the park has al of these well covered. And Everest will add to the imagined.Miss Inga Depointe said:I don't think this was the only land that was on the drawing table and didn't make it, was it? One of the reasons AK is disappointing to me is that it certainly doesn't live up to it's original promises.

When Animal Kingdom opened, there was a clamoring for "more Disney characters"
Hence Camp Minnie-Mickey.
I suppose there is room elsewhere in the park for a Beastly Kingdom(me)

Nope. Beastly Kingdom was the only land ever designed for AK and not built.Miss Inga Depointe said:Am I crazy? Weren't there something like 3 or 4 lands that they scrapped?
According to the Orlando Business Journal August 20,2001 Beastly rumors, flying roller coasters, hall of famers
