Will ther be a DVC party mixer by EPCOT this DEC ?

I saw this last year on the DVC web sight was wondering if thay will have it this year. Did anybody go to this how was it? I think it was on Wed night by the Int gate way. Thanks for your help.

I hope so! We go in early December every other year and 2006 is our year. Last summer we attended the DVC Block Party at Pleasure Island and it was wonderful. It appears that DVC is not having a similar summer event this year. They are having something called Welcome Home Wednesdays which does not look near as fun as the Block Party.

Let's hope they have the Merry Mixer in December!

The Merry Mixer was great last year! It was held just next to the International Gateway boat dock. They had a DJ and dancing, sugar cookies, hot and cold apple cider, ornament craft for the kids, special character appearance including the Reindeer who lead the reindeer games. There was a cash bar for those interested, a table with DVC merchandise and a few other tables with various information available. Each family received a pewter ornament with DVC 2005 on it...very nice.

I'm heading down this Friday and will try to get over to the Welcome Home Wednesday if I can...booked a spa treatment for Dsis and Dniece at that time, but nothing for me, so I might make it over while they're getting all fru-fru-ed up...lol

If you get a chance and they have Merry Mixers this year...go! It was great!

I agree with the previous poster, if they have the Merry Mixer you should go. It was really fun for the kids, a nice little break from the very crowded parks, and it was good to say hello to some fellow members.

I certainly hope so! We really enjoyed them 2 years ago, and I understand they were the same last year. It was a great idea, and a great time! We will be there during that time frame too, so I'm crossing my fingers they do it again!

I hope they have the Merry Mixer again this year, because we got a family picture taken with Chip n Dale, and Mickey and Minnie taken by a photographer. In fact, we ordered Christmas cards with the picture of us with Mickey and Minnie, and we have them put away for sending out this Thanksgiving. We thought that was totally cool!

I think the Block party is alive and well I just recieved this in July's vacation Magic.



Attend the Summer Block Party
Disney Vacation Club is inviting Members and their guests to take part in the second annual Summer Block Party, an exclusive Member gathering taking place at Pleasure Island at the Walt Disney World® Resort on Thursdays from July 20-Aug. 31.

Members will gather with their Disney neighbors in and near the Rock 'n' Roll Beach Club and Motion clubs for two hours of evening fun (5-7 p.m.), including live entertainers, games, refreshments and more. Admission to the party is free.

As an added bonus, Members attending the party will receive complimentary admission to Pleasure Island nightclubs for the remainder of the evening. (Note that some clubs require Guests to be age 21 or older.)

"Last year's Summer Block Party events were big hits," said Disney Vacation Club Cast Member Carol Chukwu, one of the organizers behind this year's events. "It's a great way for Members to visit with other Member families and get a jump start on a great night at Pleasure Island. We're really looking forward to welcoming Members 'home' to this year's events."

No registration is necessary for this event. Just show up, present your Disney Vacation Club Member ID and get ready to seize the night!
