Well I am happy to say my family and I have picked a date for our trip to WDW. We are leaving Sept 12 and staying for 10 days. I know the crowds will be next to nothing but the weather concerns me. I can deal with heat and humidity but not rain. Has anyone been down there the week I will be. Are the light crowds reason enough to go and risk bad weather??? Please let me know your thoughts!!!!! Thanks!

The heat and humidity are much more a bother than the rain....for me....at this time of year. Actually, you'll be welcoming those afternoon showers to cool things down. Now if a hurricane comes....which is not too often....then the rain can be a bit more but personally, I wouldn't worry about that happening. The lack of crowds definitely makes this a better time of year to go. To me, any time that crowds can be avoided is a plus!

Except for last year, we have always gone the second week in September and found the crowds to be extremely light (walk on EVERYTHING) and they weather was fine. Yes, it is hurrican season but we always seemed to miss the storms. One year, a hurricane hit the day we left. Two years ago, we had one full day of very heavy rain. Other than that it was fine.

We went this past september, the 3rd week it was very hot and humid, we were happy for the rain in the afternoon, it cooled it off and ran alot of people out of the parks. It did not rain every day or for very long and we hardly had to wait in any lines, hardly needed fastpass at all. Look for security guy Bill in magic kingdom. He is a wealth of information and so nice.

We were there in Sept 2000. It was very hot and humid, but the rain wasn't a big deal. We even had a hurricane during our trip, but we put on our raincoats and went to epcot anyway. After the hurricane the weather was really nice.

Now the love bugs on the other hand . . .

We've gone that week in Sept. on an almost continual basis since 1975.
Never had a hurricane hit, and the rain we've had is always limited to the usual thunderstorms.

I think it's a fine time to go!!

I think you picked a great time to go! We were there last year at that time. Yes, it is hot and humid and yes it rains but that won't dampen your fun. While we were there it rained primarily in the evenings, after 8 or 9 pm which didn't effect the theme parks (except Epcot) because they were closed. There was only one late afternoon/early evening downpour that cancelled Fantasmic. We hung around Mgm anyway and had a great time even though we we soaked (and we were wearing ponchos). We did leave when it began to thunder. That was the only time the rain forced us to change our plans. As for the love bugs, I didn't see any.
