Seems like it is quite warm in Orlando, but there's numerous thunderstorms about and has been for the past week and looks like continuing for the next week as well.

Any chance of it improving before early September?

Summertime + Florida + Humidity = 5:30PM Rain/T-Storm that lasts for an hour. Its no big deal.

So, We shouldn't have to worry then?

I guess if it does downpour we will head to the nearest store or food stop.

If you look at weather reports for this time of year, every day will list the possibility of a t'storm. That doesn't mean all day rain.

Don't worry about it.

Throw on a poncho and head to the nearest ride that usually has a long line :)
Don't worry about it. It's hot, it's humid. It rains almost every day for a little while.

Just throw on the poncho's and keep enjoying the attractions! The thunderstorms normally last very long. Just long enough to cool things off a bit and clear the crowds out.

Yes, it usually rains every afternoon in Florida in the summer, but the rain doesn't last long and can be a welcome sight in the humidity!

When I lived in Ft. Myers we could always tell the tourists from the residents when the afternoon showers hit...residents ignored it and tourists grabbed everything and ran around like chickens with their heads cut off, trying to make it back to their cars!

Like others have said, bring a poncho and keep on enjoying Disney!

Rain, I have a vague recollection of what that is ;) !! What I would give to run around in a thunderstorm about now.....

THis time of year there is always a "chance of thunderstorms" because chances are somewhere in that general vincinty, there will be a thunderstorm in the afternoon. They are short lived but very common July, August, September.
Usually an hour from cloud up to sun back out. Plan earlier ADRs for dinner maybe you'll get lucky and be inside! Really, it's not bad. Some amazing light shows. I've lived in NY and FL - never seen a thunderstorm in NY that rivals on in Fl.
