So, when traveling to Disney we normally leave our home around 6am and arrive around 1 or 1:30. When we check in we usually have to wait until like 3 or 4pm before our room is ready. This year we are considering leaving around midnight so we can try to be there at 8am. If we try to check in at that time will we get our room or will we have to wait until 3 or 4 like we usually do?

Hi,

You can CHECK IN as early as you like, store your bags, and head off to a park, but the room is not guaranteed to be ready until check in time.

Now...that means it COULD be ready ahead of time, but if it is, consider it a gift from the hotel occupancy gods! I certainly wouldn't count on it.

I have checked in several times by 8 AM and often the room has been ready at that time. However, just as often, the room has not been ready and I have had to wait until later in the day to get into the room. It just depends upon conditions at the resort on your check-in day.

You never know. We normally arrive @10am. We have waited only once for our room. It's always worth a shot. And if your driving down then you'd have the things you would need to head out to the parks. Or sit in the food court and eat breakfast and explore the resort for an hour. Good Luck!

Can't hurt trying ;) Your room may or may not be ready but you get your KTTW & can go to the parks or eat a nice breakfast & go on your way :thumbsup2

What will you loose by trying.....you may be lucky. If not....you will be playing at WDW and what's wrong with that.

I was shocked last Thanksgiving Sunday when we toodled into BWI with friends about 10 am and found our two connecting rooms (absolutely fabulous-perfect-excellent location) available for us.

It's nice when it happens.....but with the shortage of mousekeepers.....it's a challenge for them to keep up.

While stranger things have happened, the magic eight ball rates your chances of the room being ready that early, in May, as 'doubtful'.
