Oh, I'm behind. So, so far behind.
There should have been a chapter yesterday, but instead there was sleep. Blessed sleep. As in TK went to bed at 800pm and didn't get up until 615am.
Ahhh....
I felt better this morning, but my peaceful oblivion was slightly marred by the entrace of someone into my bed chamber at the ungodly hour of three am. You know, the time I'll most likely be waking up a week from Sunday? But, I jump ahead.
Yes, there was a pitter patter, and a small child joined me. I can say two things. 1. Thank God DH was asleep on the couch. 2. Thank God I booked a resort with queen beds. Oy, that child! Fish out of water. And me! Fish out of water! I won't even describe to you how at one point his feet were at my neck. We won't go there. But bless him, when I woke up this morning, and he was still sleeping, with his head on the pillow just so angelic....

my baby boy.
But what's even more than less unhelpful? Nothing, really, just that I'm behind.
So what I would have written yesterday is that two weeks from today, I'll be waking up somewhat earlier. And rousing the menfolk as well. Because that Thursday is our one early breakfast ADR. What say you? Something early for the TK clan?
Well....if you count 1020am as early, sure!

This is just early by comparison to all our other laid back days.
However, this ADR is important.
It is fairly non-negotiable. It is something I have wanted to do and spent hours drooling over food porn for.
Boma.
Say it with me. Bo-maaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Lovely, lovely breakfast at Boma. So I know for this day, everyone will need to be up and at 'em, and dressed and ready to go by 900, so that we can mosey our way to some transportation. I plan to boat or bus to MK, and then bus to AKL. It should be fairly simple, but I'm giving us an hour's travel time, because you just never know.
After we've partaken in a little slice of heaven on earth in the form of delectable morning repast, we'll make our way to the Animal Kingdom park.
Oh, I have high hopes for this park.
I hate to tell you how many times I've been here. And that I still haven't seen everything. And that really there's no reason for that. I hate to tell you that I still need a park map in the Animal Kingdom because for some dang reason, it's the only park I cannot memorize. I get turned around, don't know my way around, and all around flustered. Fortunately for me, for some reason, this park sticks with DH. I attribute my lack of knowledge to the fact that I haven't seen everything...something that I hope to rectify.
This is the park that could be my undoing, folks. The park that appeals to my non-pirate, structured, OCD nature. The park that makes me add the park hopping option back on. Because I know how mom and nana feel about this park. I can sum it up in one word: safari. That's pretty much what they go there for. So I really, really would like to do some other things this year. Like see Nemo or FOTLK, since it's highly unlikely we can do both. Like go to the petting zoo, which I didn't even realize existed.
The Animal Kingdom is my shame, my friends. It is the largest symbol of the smallest bit of my lack of Disney knowledge.
I will rectify that.
I will become Animal Kingdom savvy.
I will prevail.
That's the pirate in me, I guess.
Anyhoo, after I've hopefully managed to do at least some of the things I've never done here, we'll leave.
And most likely adjourn to Downtown Disney. Where I hope to have a date with a few things. Goofy's Candy Co for one. Lots of shopping for another. And the big McDonald's for dinner. I think DS will just get an absolute kick out of that McDonald's. I know the menfolk will want to go to Once Upon a Toy, and I'll want to go in...well, all the shops!
This is a leisurely night of shopping, eating, browsing, shopping, eating, browsing. What a great way to end a day.
However, if upon leaving the Animal Kingdom I discover that I am feeling, shall we say...sticky? Shall we venture to even say that my natural...ahem...glow in Florida has turned to something less of a glow and more of a sheen of perspiration that it is highly possible we may not head to downtown and may actually head back to the hotel for a swim?
Well, judging by the fly by the seat of our pants nature of this trip, I'd say it's entirely possible.
Which brings us to today.
Two weeks from now.
So that's Friday, the 19th. Upon which we will be having lunch at The Grand Floridian Cafe at 1230pm. Ahhh...my taste of the Grand Flo without actually staying there. I do so love this hotel. It left such a huge impression on me when we stayed there when I was about 10, and I believe on that trip I told my parents when I got married I wanted to honeymoon there.
I did.
:::ahem::::
Anyway, I just read the greatest food review for the cafe, with some yummy, yummy sandwiches and it looked so good. So, so good. I am looking forward to this ADR. But I'll let you in on a little secret.
I'm not married to it. I'm glad I have it, glad I booked it, glad we have something. It is possible it may get swapped for something else. I'm not sure. Ah, TK does not know what she wants. NoMagicSpinnyCompass.
We have another ADR for this day, in the evening. It's a 600pm for Artist Point. Another I would like to do, but am not married to. I've entertained the notion of switching it to another evening, of dropping it completely. I just don't know. And I won't decide. We'll pack some dressier clothes in case we feel like doing a nice signature get all gussied up restaurant, and asking the server to take a picture of the cute little family we'll be in our fancy duds, or we'll drop it and eat some junk and play some video games. Who can say?
Now, if we're not going to add park hoppers back on, this day will be spent in Epcot. It will be the Epcot last hurrah, if you will. We'll most likely be spending our time in the countries, finishing up whatever we didn't do on our first day here. Leisurely. Go with the flow-y. And shopping, my friends. I do love shopping in Epcot, especially China. Such pretty things, and usually reasonably priced. Perhaps someday if I'm feeling fancy, I'll post a picture of the painting I bought there. It's gorgeous, and hangs in our living room.
Wow, that was a digression.
I seem to be full of those tonight. Yikes, it's 915! Way past my bedtime.
Anyhoo, wrapping up. This night in Epcot, I believe there's EMH. So it is entirely possible that we may stay a bit later and watch Illuminations if we haven't already, and then slowly mosey our way out as everyone else stays for EMH. This is dependent upon several things, one being that DS is okay with fireworks and loud noises on this trip which we just won't know until we get there, and another that I've heard the globe is out for refurbishment. Which makes me wonder if the shortened version of Illuminations is going to do it for me, so to speak. Illuminations is my favorite. I have a lot of emotional memories tied up in this, and I haven't seen it in a while. To see it not in its true form would be...well, weird. But, I've also heard rumors, albeit rumors, that they're working on something to replace it, which makes me think I should at least try to see it if that's the case.
So that's the wrap up, folks.
Two days in one.
Lord, let me stay on track now, that was a doozy.
