It was a valiant effort.

I STILL have not seen this movie. But I reaaaallly want to try to fit it in before the trip because I have a feeling I'm gonna fall in love with it. Maybe I'll rent it from Blockbuster and try to watch it on my laptop on a couple of the trips to/from work.

Okay, let me put this in terms I know you'll identify with.

So two weeks from today I'll be doing the unthinkable.

And that is, leaving the World.

Wrong on so many, levels, but all good things must come to an end, eh? Well...at least until December. More on that later.

But before we leave the World we'll be partaking of one last sweet jaunt into the Magic Kingdom. Our last chance to see the sights, smell the smells, ride the rides, and hopefully leave with some booty. Treasure if you will. In the form of delectable goodies form the Main Street Bakery, Candy Shop, and Emporium. Indeedy. There's a cinnamon bun with my name on it, and I'm having one last hot dog at Casey's before I have to bid my fair Walt Disney World adieu.

On this day, I believe thanks will be in order.

I know I'll be thankful for our vacation. For the time we'll get to spend together as a family, and the bonding we'll have. I'll be thankful that I got to take this trip to Disney, got to partake in free dining again, and got to stay at a deluxe hotel. I'll be thankful for all that this will mean to me, and I don't even know what all of that is yet. I'll be thankful for all the adventures I can't even imagine but that I know we'll have.

And I should add, to complete the atmosphere of this chapter, my DS is watching POTC right now, at his request. That boy does love him some Jack Sparrow. Again, I have no idea who he gets that from.

Let's do the six day dance, shall we? Not to be confused with the sixth day dance....NoAhnold.



So most notably, we've been getting more organized for our trip. I haven't started packing, but amassing items for the trip in particular areas of the bedroom. For me, this is organization, folks. That's as good as it gets. NoJackNicholson.

Anyhoo, my toiletries are pretty much in the right places, the last minute things we use every day are where they are every day, and things that haven't found a place yet have been either put on one particular shelf, or organized into little boxes. The batteries in my digital camera finally died, so I replaced those. Burned all my photos onto CDs, upload them, printed them. I still have to scrap them, but at least I have them in several places, so I dumped the memory card. I do have a backup memory card but can't remember exactly where it is. Ah well! I'll find that before Sunday.

I've made my final shopping list, for WalMart and The Dollar Tree. WalMart will most likely get done Wednesday after work, The Dollar Tree I'm saving for Saturday. The day before we leave. Sounds sooo good to say that. I plan to get some snack type items, maybe some flavor pouches for water, etc, and I don't want them hanging around during the week where little hands (and big ones, ha ha!) can find them.

I should probably scour through the packing lists and see if anything needs to be added. I've made the transfer from our vacation savings to our checking, and I need to allocate our budget to the various envelopes and wallets it'll be going in. I need to roll our change, which will most likely get done today, and then make sure I have enough for laundry. I would say the chance of my doing laundry on this vacation are 99.99%. We've had some small accidents lately, and it's so boy. Too busy playing, not paying attention, wetting the underwear. :::sigh::: Ah well. That's pretty rare, but it does happen. I know we'll just have to remind him to go, and I suffer from TBS (tiny bladder syndrome) so I'm sure what with my needs, we'll be okay!

Oh, DH finally got sneakers! Thank goodness, he was driving me nuts. He eventually got a great deal on two pair of Reeboks at Sports Authority. Actually talked them into knocking some off the price of one pair because it had a scuff on it. Then he came home and got the scuff off with a baby wipe. I was so proud. So all told, two pairs of sneaks for about $25 each. He did so well.

Still waiting for DS sneakers to arrive, which is frustrating because he starts school tomorrow.

School.

My boy is going to preschool. We all remember that chapter, right? I'm so not ready. Not ready at all. Today I'm taking him out to a local gardening place, they have some live animals, and ice cream. It's going to be the last before school outing. I'm looking forward to spoiling him just a little bit. Ice cream for lunch, anyone?

That's pretty much...oh, yesterday I pre-ordered the photopass CD. I am soooooo looking forward to taking advantage of this, especially since we don't have any extended family with us on this trip to take photos. So, it'll be nice to avail ourselves of the photogs and get some family shots.

I'm getting excited, folks.

Like really, really excited. And it's not even that I'm going to Disney. Well, it is that, but it's also that I'm going away, for eight days, with my family. And it's the first time we've ever gone just the three of us. And I know it's going to be awesome.

I can't wait.

That's a great idea. It's possible even, because it's warmer that he may be drinking more and more apt to pee out of a diaper. We had one of those kind of days on one of our trips, and I literally ran out of extra clothes. I think I mentioned that once. Anyhoo, I'm all for the Tide sink packs!

I just cleaned the whole apartment. Top to bottom. I'm exhausted. So literally, it could be said I was climbing the walls.

I just like to come back to a clean house and it had been a while since we'd...ahem...done the kitchen and bathroom floors thoroughly. I won't go into details. It needed to be done. Then I found my Mr. Clean Magic Erasers...do you have those there? They're awesome for getting scuff marks off walls. They come 2 in a box. I used both. And didn't finish.

Yes, we scuff our walls. And don't clean them for a while. But we're lovable!

Anyway, I know I'm not going to have time for this tomorrow what with DS going to preschool and some errands, and once I get into my work week, I won't feel like doing it. Saturday after work will be for packing, so today as a big clean, vacuum, scrub day.

Helps keep my mind off the whole six days thing. Until now.

How exciting that Niamh starts! I know you must be sad too, as she's your baby. I'm having SUCH a hard time with this, but I know he'll probably love it. Ah well.

I just have this mental image of myself now in a whirl of cleaning products and dust all over the apartment!

And yes, baby wipes do work wonders, but our baseboards were really, really bad.

It is helping that Niamh is desparate to go and won't stop talking about it ....mind you that's not to say that come Thursday afternoon I won't be like this

It's funny your daughter talks about it so much. I keep talking to DS about school, and about going, and he keeps saying no. I think some of this has to do with the fact that he's so "present-minded" as in, focusing on what's happening right now.

When I log onto the wdw site, he loves to watch the castle and how it goes to different clips of the parks. I say, DS, we're going to see the castle in a few days. I love the palace, he says, but I can tell he doesn't really get it.

I'm more worried about my mother! She has to bring him by herself for his first full day on Thursday because I'll be at work. Oy.

No magic erasers! I'm completely hooked on these gems. I use them for everything. Even my nieces love to clean with them. I think you need to let one of us send you a few. I feel bad that your missing out.
