The TK family is run amock! I am beside myself with giddiness. DH is trying to hide how excited he is, but very unsuccessfully, and DS...well, DS is having one of his three year old days. You know those. And if you don't, let me tell you.
I think he's overtired from yesterday. We had a really great playdate, but it was 2-3 hours of playing outside, and I don't think he got quite enough sleep last night. His nap was a bit shorter than usual as well. Fast forward to today, and I have some errands to run. Now it's obvious he's still tired, but I'm hoping he'll fall asleep on the way home in the car, and I can get him to bed without him waking up. Right? WRONG!
DS woke up as soon as I put him down in bed. Twice he's been out now to tell him he "no nigh-nights." Oh boy. So I've read him his favorite book, and rocked him, and now, I can hear him in there, playing with his toys, not taking a nap. He is going to be sooooooo cranky tonight! We are supposed to have a play date at the park at 330, and I was really looking forward to it, it's a new moms group I've joined. I can't decide whether or not to take him. Small child, lack of sleep, usually = poor behavior. Or, if I'm lucky, it could be the right amount of activity to push him over the edge into going to bed really, really early tonight, thereby allowing DH and I some alone time. Remember the feminine wiles?
So as I revel in the chaos that is my current day, I take this moment of peace while the child's still in his room, to take a look at my itinerary.
It's time for a little shift folks. A change in plans if you will.
Recall the dates, Sep 14-21. The parks we've picked for the various days shall remain the same, but I'm going to share with you our amended schedule.
Sep 14 - Arrival Day - UnGodly Early Southwest Flight - arrive at Wilderness Lodge resort and bask in all that is Deluxe...ah...
DS has now left his room informing me no nap...I have now told him he needs to lay down on the couch and have quiet time and watch a movie...he picked Beauty and the Beast (my favorite princess!)...we'll see how long this lasts....where was I?
Ah yes, we'll be basking in all that is Deluxe, reveling in our hard-earned dollars being spent on this glorious resort. I plan to turn this into a resort day. If DS is hungry, we'll grab some lunch from Roaring Forks, and if he's tired we'll try to sneak in a nap if the room's ready. If it's not, perhaps we'll just stroll him around and explore the resort...I haven't been there in about four years, so I'd love to look at all the little nuances, maybe try to find some Hidden Mickeys. Of course, this evening, after we've gotten situated in our room, we'll be taking our lovely boat ride to the Magic Kingdom!

Where I will certainly partake of a lovely Casey's hot dog, and maybe even a Dole Whip. Oh yeah, I'm living it up, baby! And...I think...that over at the Lunching Pad or Launching Pad or whatever they call it, across from Buzz Lightyear where they sell the Turkey legs, I believe they also sell Slushy Cokes. One down, only three more parks to go.
Sep 15 - Alright, I know it's dorky, but I am so, so, so excited that WL has a health club. This means I can continue my workouts while on vacation. Every year vacation is my downfall. I stop working out that week, and never get back into the swing of things at home, and then proceed to pack on what I fondly call my winter fat. This year NOWinterfat. So this year, because of where we're staying, I'll be able to get on my happy little treadmill, never mind the swimming we'll be doing. So hopefully this morning, I'll work out, and then we'll head on over to the lovely Silver Creek Pool. I remember liking this pool when I was pregnant. It had such a natural feeling to it. I think we'll get DS a life vest and see if he wants to tackle the slide. If he's not up to it, that's okay, we'll just have fun playing in the pool. If we get sick of the pool...like there is such a thing with a three year old

...then we'll head over to the playground and the beach area and just chill a bit. Lunch will be at Roaring Forks, and after this leisurely morning we'll still be heading over to Epcot and having our chill day and dinner at the Coral Reef.
Sept 16 - Okay, guys, here comes the exciting part. To get to our Chef Mickey's ADR, guess what we'll be doing? Getting on a boat! Can you tell I'm so excited about my newfound transportation options? Depending on what comes first, I know there's smaller boats that run between the resorts, if not we'll hop on the MK boat and then take the monorail. I am so, so excited to be in the Magic Kingdom area. So much of our vacation is planned around Magic Kingdom, and the Halloween Party, and Epcot, this is really going to work out to our advantage. I said to DH today, do you know how much easier our transportation is going to be?

Never mind that we can still have all our Contemporary fun/shopping and head back to WL for a nap before the party. Then, all we have to do to get to the party, is take the boat. Have I mentioned the boat enough yet?

I am also looking forward to the fact that after a long night at the Halloween party, I don't have to board a bus to get back to my room. This will be ranking very, very high with my tired feet/self.
Sep 17 & 18 - These are our MGM and Animal Kingdom days so we will be partaking of the bus system. We'll have had to use the busses on our second day to get to Epcot, so no biggie. And even though WL does share with some of the other MK resorts, I am not concerned. It will be what it will be. My big selling point on this resort...if I can pick one...was the renovated rooms with bigger beds, and the boat to the MK. If I have to share a bus with another resort for certain places, so be it. It's a worth "sacrifice."
Sep 19 - The Day Tonga and I Become Acquainted - Ah, yes...to get to the Poly, I'll be getting on...you guessed it...the boat! Also, I think because it'll be fairly easy to get back and forth instead of heading straight for a park right after breakfast, I think it might be nice to head back to the Lodge and maybe explore the resort a little bit more, go swimming, play video games, whatever. Then later, we can head to either MK or Epcot, whatever tickles our fancy. I definitely want to be in a park later, because I'll be jonesing for some of the yummy counter service options that Epcot has. Mexico, here I come. Maybe if we're having a good day, I can even catch Illuminations. If we call it a night early, then I'd love to catch the Electrical Parade that goes across Bay Lake. I know it's a little late for my little peanut, but I would just love to see it once, especially since we're staying at WL where it's so easily accessible.
Sep 20 - The Day Tink and I Become Acquainted - Also the day that we have a lunch ADR at the Crystal Palace, so we'll pop on over to the MK and partake in the yummy, yummy buffet. After Lapu Lapu Fest, if I can still walk

, we'll still head out to whichever park we feel we didn't get to complete, whether it be more MK or Epcot.
Sep 21 - Sadly I will have to leave the Wilderness Lodge. Real life will come a knocking.

But not before I've had oodles of fun!
I feel like
Did I mention the boat?
