I am just wondering: Since Disney is building a brand new resort in Shanghai using WDW as the model. Would it be possible that they will have some kind of DVC resort in it? It would be cool if they do. That way we can have a place to stay when we go visit the new park.
My guess is it will be a LONG time--if ever--that this venture makes any sort of profit.
Until then, I seriously doubt DVC will want any connection with it.
They don't have DVC in Hong Kong, Tokyo or Paris, right? My guess is no. Why would they start now. They'll probably have hotels that members can use points to book stays like the others (not post-3/20 resale purchasers.)

this is probably correct. even though it would be cool if they would consider building DVC in HK, Tokyo and Paris as well. That would definitely be a big factor in pushing me to go visit these places.
China is progressing but their culture is very different than ours. My thought is that it will take time to introduce the DVC concept. I don't think it is a generation away but at least 20 years in my estimation. Change takes time.
Even if they do, i don't think i could go over to a communist country. They treat there citizens terrible. Not trying to get into a political rant, just giving my reason.

I totally agree with you. I went to China a few years ago and I did see a lot of changes there, trying to catch up by making the city more safe and beautiful. The only thing is that the citizens are not changing as fast as the city, their mind is not adopting to the new changes as fast as the city.
