Will NEVER take a side-by-side stroller to WDW AGAIN!

I have a Joovy caboose and hate it. My dd is 4 and she is so uncomfortable in it! I also have a 5 month old and it does not recline all the way back so it is not comfortable for him either. It's okay for the mall but not for being at the theme parks all day! I actually just purchased a Graco duoglider for our upcoming trip to Disney. I know it's heavy but comfort is the most important factor for me to consider when I purchase a stroller. Trust me, the Joovy may look cool but it's not all that great!

The duoglide is the stroller that my friends son kept falling out of when he feel asleep. He was in the front of it (the baby was in the back with the car seat. So it is really only good for one sleeping child, just so you know. :headache: Still I would think it would be better then a sit and stand. In fact my friend had the sit and stand and took it back to buy the duoglide. I can't stand the duoglide, I think it is too big and bulky, but other then the sleeping issue my friend did ok with it for a few trips to WDW.

We have twins and our first trip to Disney they were 3. We had the tandum Graco DuoGlide and it was FABULOUS!!! It was narrow enough to fit everywhere and both seats reclined enough for them to sleep comfortably. It was great...but after three years of use and one trip to Disney, when we returned home it was pretty much done for. We used it for a few more months, but eventually had to get rid of it. We bought a side by side umbrella style stroller and it was a complete nightmare. It reclined, but you had to stop and loosen the strap thingies and let it down - it was super wide and wouldn't fit in the doorways of the mall. I knew it would not work in Disney. We ended up, for our trip this past March, going out and getting Jeep umbrella strollers. They were AWESOME! We bought two of them for about $150 and we just both pushed a stroller. I am a little worried about next year though. The boys have already outgrown these strollers and I am not buying another one - however, I do not think they will handle walking around in the parks all day very well as one of my boys has trouble with his feet - he had to wear corrective shoes when he first started walking. Maybe we should just rent one to use in the parks...

Hi, not to hijack the initial topic of this thread, but we also have twins and started out with the Graco Duo Glider and loved it! Same here, though, and we needed something else around age 3. We got a Dreamer double jogger and it has been absolute heaven in Disney. It was expensive, but well worth the investment. The seats are padded and recline individually and also have individual canopies, lots of storage too. My twins are 4 now and last trip (a couple months ago) they mainly needed the jogger only at night when they were tired out and they would fall asleep right in the jogger too. We like to stay at resorts where we can walk or monorail back at night, so we can let the twins rest/sleep and not worry about unloading and folding up the jogger.

LOVE the double joggers (Schwinn by InStep I beleive)-- have to have the front swivle wheel if you ask me!

In the last 4 years we have taken: the umberella verison of the schwinn jogger-- ok but not as "sturdy"-- at the time I had 1 child 2.5yrs old and 6mths -- so pretty young and light weight... it got around fine, just didn't hold up as well to the abuse of the airline, but folded down awesome, and had extending handles for us tall people pushing!... next year replaced with double jogger schwinn version (LOVEDIT) got around great... perfect for my son who was now 1.5mths old and my 3.5 yr old daughter... last year... kids now 2.5 and 4.5 years old; I had sold my jogger and puchased a beefy double "umberella style" (not cheap, but still umberella so light weight, folded down great)-- piece of crap-- didn't even make it in the airport on the way there, so we left it behind (in the car and sent back for refund) we rented a stroller there-- NEVER AGAIN... those things are horrible! No reclining seats for tired kiddo's, bulky, didn't move around as easily as the double jogger with the swivle front tire! SO this year... my dd is 5.5, son is 3.5-- I debated going without a stroller as we do not use one any longer; not even for small trips... or other trips-- however our other trips may have 1 or 2 days of "walking days" (zoo, muesum, etc) nothing like 8 days of constant walking and late evenings at the parks (my kids will sleep anywhere-- and they are perfect Disney kids, they can totally change their sleeping habits (go to bed at 11pm, still get up at 7am, and be awesome attituded kids... for vacation (at home we have a tight bedtime routine)-- and true my kids no longer nap, but my 3.5 might doze off there since he will be putting in some long days and being VERY active (wink wink) so I quickly ordered a schwinn double jogger again-- it is actually nice and sturdy enough that eventhe older kids (13,12,9, 6) can sit (not ride-- except for the 6yr) at parades etc... I love that the seat recline and that it ahs a huge canopy for the sun and rain-- I have a double stroller rain cover that I keep on it so if it rains we tuck the kiddo's into that and take off... now mind you they might not use it as much this yeare... I am expecting that especially during the day the kids will walk alot and want to... so we may park it and come back to it later in the day... it is nice with the bus transportation to have stroller as the walks to the drop off/pick up are usually pretty good walk from the gate even... and the jogger while it doesn't fold tiny, it does fold down easily for getting on and off the bus.

i can say that in the past (up until last year) we were at monorail or "boated" resorts and never had a problem getting on or off pushing it on and off-- it fit perfectly into the monorail (handicap-- or we folded if long lines) or the boat, never folded it on there!

I am sorry yours didn't do great... I do know many years (8-10yrs)ago my sister had the graco duo glide (long before joggers become popular) and I hated pushing it, it was so long! and kids one in front of the other liked to pull hair (mind you they were close in age and like 1 & 2, or 2&3 yrs old) I love the kids sitting next to each other they chat away.. etc...:santa:

:santa: 11 days and "patiently" waiting -- JUST GET ME THERE ALREADY-- I can hardly wait... funny my 5 and 3yr old are handling the wait better than me!!!!:santa:

I just wanted to add my 0.02.

We purchased the Joovy Caboose on our recent trip to Disney with DS (5 mos), and DD (5 yrs)...and it was a love/hate relationship.

We loved the fact that we only had 1 stroller, and it was quite narrow so could fit a lot of places, but it is still quite long.

DS could not recline comfortably, so would never sleep in the stoller, and if DS was at all reclined, then DD was not comfortable at all.

When you have 2 children both in, it is quite heavy and difficult to push, and DH & I had to keep trading off because I would get so tired.

I ended up having DS in the sling the majority of the time, and let DD have the "front" seat.

Did I think it was a good purchase? Yes, at the time. Would I recommend it to others,....umm, yes & no. The other couple that we went with also purchase the Joovy, and they have said the same thing.

We have already booked our Aug'08 trip, and will most likely not be taking the Joovy's. We're actively looking right now to see what we can get to replace that will work for our families.

Hope that helps!
