We were going to go to Chef Mickey's on our first night, but I was talking to my DS 8 about Ohana and he said that he thought that might be cool too. We did Chef Mickey's last year and loved it, but I want to try new things as well. We have an 8:10 PS at Ohana on Saturday October 2. Wishes is scheduled for 9:00 that night. Does this sound like a good plan for a first night, or should we change back to CM?

Your plan sounds great.

Ohana is fun for all ages. It's casual, lively, colorful and kids enjoy the games and music. By all means keep your plans as they are, especially if your DS is up for it.

Ohana is fun too! Have special, fun activities for kids and staff extremely kid friendly.

We tried Ohanas for the first time last October and really liked it a lot!!! My DD princess: had a great time - with the hoola hoop contest and coconut races!! The food was pretty good and the kids games made it a great night!

We finished up a little early for Wishes, so we walked out to the beach and watched it from there!!

Enjoy!!!

ok Im confused
I thought the only Wishes the wk of Oct 2-8 will be that Wed
Where do you see Wishes Oct 2?
thought would be great - a 2nd chance to see it but i dont see where its listed on the park hours
please help

WE love Ohanna's. We find the food and service much better than CM, though there are no characters.

One note is that not all the tables have window views, so watching wishes might not work as well as you had hoped. You will still be eating at 9:00. I still vote for Ohanna's just don;t be disapointed if you do not have a window seat,

Good point, JordansMom!
We have eaten at Ohana twice and never been near a window...but still love it!

You will love 'Ohanna's! We have taken our children there and they all enjoyed it (my dd was 8 last trip.)

To increase your chances of getting a good table for viewing the fireworks I would show up a few minutes early for your ps and make a request at the hostess station. The staff has always been happy to accomodate us - they just let us know that we may have to wait a little longer for our table (as we would have expected.) If you don't get a table with a view many people will leave their table and stand near a window (being respectful of other diners, of course!)

We took DDs (1 and 4) to Ohana's in May and they both loved it! We had a window view for Wishes and it was the most fabulous place to view the fireworks - truly magical! As an earlier poster stated, show up early and (very nicely of course and with a smile) make a request for a window table. The staff will accomodate you if at all possible but expect a longer wait. We ordered the girls virgin strawberry daquiris (they thought the drinks were strawberry "slushes" and they loved the fruit garnishes) and they colored their Princess coloring books in the lounge while we waited. There is also a great gift shop (can't think of the name) on the restaurant level that you could browse through while you are waiting.

Enjoy! I don't think you'll be disappointed!

dh and i tried ohana's last visit and we really enjoyed it. great character interaction and the food was pretty good.

I have a family member that's been a WDW CM since 1975. She's very familiar with all resort restaurants. When she gets out of town visitors and arranges dinner on WDW property, she ALWAYS takes them to O'Hana. :sunny:

My 2 children(3,6) are picky and whiney and they love Ohanas. IF you are looking for a 2nd meal also think about whispering canyon. Out of all the restaurants in WDW that is by far their favorite.
