Hi.Just took a look at the long range forecast for next week and it says rain for the day we have tickets for MVMCP.I know they cancel with torrential downpours, but what if it's just regular "rainy"? I'm not really worried, I know the forecasts change from day to day,bit does anyone know?princess: princess: princess:

There were some nights last year with heavy rain. They do not cancel the party, however the parade does not run for the safety of the performers. Last year if you went to City Hall, they did offer refunds or exchanges. If it's just showers and no lightning, they may delay the parades or outdoor shows. If the parade runs I don't know if they will do refunds.

We went last year and it rained really really hard. We just made sure we got our pictures taken before we got to wet. Most attractions where still up and running. It was still fun but very very wet.

On the 8th Night of Christmas, it deluged !!!!!!!! I mean 2 inches in less than an hour. We all pretty muched tired of standing in shop doorways early. There was no sign of letting up. The park was near empty by 8:30.m. but they didn't "close" the park.

We were also there the night over 2 inches of rain poured down - we heard that the entire amount of winter precipitation fell in one day. We were absolutely soaked & many of the activities were cancelled - some of the stage shows, all parades, and Thunder Mt & Splash Mt. were also closed. After going to City Hall, we were lucky to get tickets for a MVMCP 2 nights later (no rain that night, but it was actually in the 30's!)

No good weather for us either night - from what I've seen the MVMCPs are never cancelled, but Disney will usually accomodate for weather issues. Generally December is a very dry month - hopefully you get lots of sunshine. The party will be fun to see either way - have a great time!

Disney has never closed due to a storm. They will only close if a hurricane is threatning the Orlando area. Like it was said before they will delay or possibly cancel the parade due to weather. The fireworks will still go at the scheduled time.
