Hi all. Just wondering if anyone can tell me....

We will be in MK on Thurs Dec 15th. It is open from 8 am-10 pm. There is NO MVMCP that night. That is originaly why I planned to go to MK that day. I figured it would be less crowded because most people visit MK and then stay for MVMCP. I just read today though that MK is actually BUSIER when there is no MVMCP. I am just wondering if this is going to have a huge effect on the crows levels that day. Anyone have any insight? We planned to stay all day. Thanks so much!

I'd think it was the opposite. I believe the majority of guests don't buy party tickets. Of those who aren't attending the party, if they have one-park admission they're not likely to spend that day at MK because it's closing early. But they'll all be out there on a day when there's no party.

Those with hoppers or annual passes can go to another park if they're not planning to attend the party, but if they want MK at night they will also need to go on a non-party night. MK at night is a big draw, especially now that it's decorated. Plus, it's the only time some of them will have to see Wishes or the light parade.

I agree, it's the opposite. Days without parties are more crowded because the park is open later, MSEP & fireworks run. I remember one time we left at noon because the park was so crowded, we went to Epcot instead, then came back for the evening parade & fireworks. Days with parties are less crowded, people don't want to waste a non-hopper ticket with an early close.

In our experience , DAYS WITHOUT MVMCP ARE VERY BUSY..people are simply not willing to spend the day at MK when the park is closing at 7pm for a party, which makes Non-party days busy..Last year we had only one day in our visit all week that was not a MVMCP..MK was a madhouse that day.We left by 11am and hopped to Epcot

A non mvmcp day will be much, much, much busier than a party day. The vast majority of guests do not want to "waste" a MK day on a day when they have to leave at 7pm...so they all show up on a non party day. Then they'll all wonder why it's so crowded. Meanwhile, the guests who go to MK on a party day will wonder where all the people are....

The night parade and fireworks will be a zoo. Many people hop to MK on a non-party night just to see the parade and fireworks. There is such an excess of parties that there is few times to view them. Good luck and enjoy your trip!!

I am actually going to be at the Magic Kingdom on December 15th because I have an ADR for lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern and I can see exactly how many other people will be there that day.

Also another reason for them being more busy is the fact they are having AM Extra Magic Hour for the guests staying onsite, so that's something else to consider.

We made the mistake of going on a non-party night that had party nights before and after it. It was HORRIBLE. Packed, wall-to-wall people (this was in the evening), truly incredibly unpleasant to be there. So I learned that lesson the hard way.

we went to MK on Nov 13th..a party nite..boy it was nice..hardly any crowds till around 5 or so before the party started..we sat and ate from 6 on..so got all the rides in early..we got there at Rope drop..at 9..park closed at 7...hardly waited more than 10 minutes for any ride except peter pan..which i dont know why..that one is always longer....still havent figured that one out..in all my years at MK..nothing special about it....oh well thats a whole nother discussion...always go on party days..its better..
