Will Matthew effect crowds next week?

Due to drive down on the afternoon/evening of thursday the 13th. I'll just keep an eye on everything.

We're supposed to leave Colorado on the 11th, thankfully a direct flight. Hopefully, things will be cleared up by then.

I am an Orlando local and I am actually heading off to Disney Springs this morning! As locals, when a hurricane hits Florida...we all head to Disney World. In Orlando, you will not see empty grocery stores. This really only would affect the beaches, about an hour from Orlando. The crowds will be a little lighter at the parks, because people will cancel and postpone their vacations, due to the storm. One of our fav times to visit Disney is right during a tropical storm or hurricane! :)
We were there for Jeanne and Walmart was cleaned out the day before. Crowds were very low the week after. It was amazing how quickly Disney cleaned up the debris. MK opened the front half of the park on time and past Liberty Square after 10am.

Flying in on Tuesday as well. Scared this loop will affect our little trip as well. Hoping the loop just changes and goes stright out to sea.

I think we're all crossing fingers Matthew doesn't loop back on you lot! It's not something on our radar here in the UK, hope you all get enough supplies, but these storms don't hang around too long and I'd imagine WDW is one of the safest and well provisioned places to be in FL!! Stay safe everyone :-)

Considering there was no real damage to Disney, no it should not. At least not in my opinion.

I am not the predictor of all things Disney but I did just get last minute reservations to Be Our Guest and Ohana for next week.
That's normal. I know when I was trying for BOG & Ohana in July, CM said start checking every day a week out. Many tend to cancel then so they get their reservation deposit back. Ended up getting both. Got BOG day before!!! Actually had BOG, but was trying to add guests to it and couldn't, but day before a larger table opened up

I am so excited about hitting the parks this weekend!!!!!!!
Between the triple threat of it being a F&W Saturday, Holiday Weekend, and a good concert I really hope Matthew ever so slightly thins Epcot crowds rather then double it. Work at Publix about an hour from the world and with 8 hour shifts last Wed and Thu and 10 hour shifts today and on Sunday I just want to relax/enjoy the slim non work time during my birthday weekend (birthday is Sunday)

I hear you.. this will be interesting as many did make it into town and many didn't get out and can't really get out yet. I'm also seeing the expanded hours for MK and it's starting to feel like there might be a lot more people that disney thinks is going to be hitting the parks than a normal saturday. The cruises getting canceled I think also added more to the world as I have family that was on their way already when they got the news of the cruises and they decided to stop in atlanta and be close enough they could come down if it was worth it but not give up some sort of a vacation.

we will see what happens.. I'm optimistic but I don't think it'll be a full week of bliss.. I think it's going to be select parks that are really quiet for a few days before the wave of people not planning to come in until sunday or monday start arriving. Of course that is if it doesn't look like this storm is about to loop and come back. I can see many getting out early and not trying to come in early if it really does that.
