Will Jambo House be able to use pool at Kidani?

America.... half of a mile requires a shuttle? And is not an easy walk?

(Before you blast me SOME folks may need a shuttle. However statistically most of us should easily be able to walk that distance!)

Exactly what I was thinking!

AMEN! And if you can't, why are you visiting WDW? Most folks who are mobility challenged have a good means to transport themselves, and those of us who aren't, certainly can handle that distance!

I will be walking, without my husband, with a fully loaded cooler, towels, assorted pool gear/sunscreen, books et all, and three young kids, in August.

It's more about a cumbersome situation with all the stuff, than the Distance.

Why?

Somebody has to be first? Not to be a jerk, but is it that big of a deal?

Maybe they are figuring the logistics with the drivers makes it easier that way?:confused3

I didn't say it was a big deal, I said it was interesting. I had assumed they would pickup at Jambo first since it is closest to the road, although they maybe using a different entrance. I'll take bets though that there will be non-members who are staying at AKL complaining that DVC is getting preferential treatment.

Its funny when you read comments about a 15 minute walk to the lobby at SSR, you see a bunch of people jump in defending SSR, and how the walk is relaxing. But a 15 minute walk at AKV is nothing but a bother.

Don't forget about the long BWV halls, people almost collapse getting to their rooms. ;)

Its not the walk to the pools that I would see as a problem, but the walk from Kidani to Mara to bring a quick breafast to the room that I see as potential issue. After a late arrival the night before, I have been sent out to bring back provisions while others were getting ready. Not sure that would be a reasonable option when staying at Kidani, but maybe the store there will have some decent breakfast pastries other than frozen muffins! -- Suzanne

part of Kidani is really, really close to a nice grocery store - Publix - but since it is on Orange Lake property not DVC - then you might find no quick access.

which is a big shame. that walk would be quick.

Ok good. I hope they do have some sort of shuttle for DVC members, or at the very least have parking available.

If not we will walk, we plan on two full pool days during our summer trip, one at each pool.

We are planning the same too! We always try to get in earlier on the first day and use that as a pool day..(although last time we tried that it was raining and thundering and the kids were so dissapointed!) we are staying at Jambo so I think we will make our way to Kidani that day since we won't likely have a room yet and then another day at the Jambo pool. If we do need to walk atleast the kids will be ready to stretch their legs after the plane and bus rides anyway!!!!

gotcha. From your statement of Kidani guests getting the best seats, etc. I took it as a concern of yours.

My bad assumption, sorry.

Your last sentence is prolly correct. And just on the flip side, if it always stopped at Jambo house first, I would bet thought that many DVC'ers staying at Kidani would complain about yet another "perk" that cash ressies get (to go along with "free" dining, 4/3, etc) since Disney already "has us"

While I love WDW, and these boards, I just find it amusing how there are certain people seem to get upset over the littlest things.
