Will I have to shave my legs?

AliceinMaryland - I just wanted to give a little shout out from a fellow Bowieite - or rather, former Bowieite. After 40+ yers there, I am now a shorebird :wave2:

Hadn't noticed that Alice was from Bowie. I don't know much about Bowie, but I do know that whenever I have a business trip to DC I will visit Jerry's Seafood at least once. :)

China Mom-you're the 2nd person from Bowie that I've met on here!!!! We hope to be like you soon and leave :thumbsup2 There are many of you that have lived here very long that are moving on out to the shore. We've looked over there as well :)

Lord have mercy - how do you lose a sandwich!? :rotfl:

Ever seen Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me character "Fat Bas***d"? All SORTS of things stuck in his folds of skin. If I remember correctly he pulled a sandwich out of his folds and started eating it. Didn't think that would really happen in real life. Yikes!

While you're at it refrain fron brushing your teeth, combing your hair, or taking a shower. All a pain and think of the space you'd have for souvenirs! (Not to mention the space you'd have around you everywhere you went).:stir::scared1:

Classic............I don't know if this is a joke either but here goes. Wax, use a depilatory, pack a razor and use conditioner. I don't know but you know what that's why I've invested in some serious laser hair removal because unless your comfortable looking like a hobbit your going to need to shave. Honestly once you shave once you need to plan to maintain for ever. Thats why everones mom told them not to start shaving because the hair doesn't grow in dark until you shave it. So if you want to mingle in star wars with chubaka and the ewoks go all natural but if you plan to wear pretty shorts, capris or dressed I would shave its not like your saving that much space or time.

I am really hoping that this is a joke! I wouldn't dare go 8 days without shaving my legs or underarms!!!! :scared1: I have 2 DDs and the youngest has just begun to shave for middle school this fall, and I wouldn't let them go that long either. I realize in some countries and that there are some groups of people who don't believe in shaving, but not me!!!!

Oh and by the way, at Disney we shower twice (and sometimes three times) a day and we all brush our teeth several times a day. Shaving for us girls and for my husband's beard / mustache is a given!!! I couldn't ever go 3 days much less 8!!!!

6494 FOLKS HAVE NOW READ THIS THREAD.

maybe all us girls could get away with leg shaving now. :rolleyes1

I shave my legs daily. Kind of related to your mom telling you to wear clean underwear in case you end up in an accident or needing surgery. I work in the OR and you would not believe the nasty hygiene some people have. These are not always indigent or elderly people either. Most people neglect to clean their bellybuttons- you should see what comes out of there(as part of an abdominal skin prep,we have to clean inside it). And yes, we do notice.

I would love to have my legs waxed but I'm not sure I could take the pain. Those depilatory creams irritate me, so shaving it is.

Op, I thought the idea behind the post was funny. Some people are very uptight about anything to do with the body. I am not. It takes a lot to offend or shock me, probably because of my job. Oh the stories I could tell..;)

I'd like to take a poll as to how many people checked their belly button after they read your post......

(BTW, I checked mine right afterwards!)

Lol, I can see why it might be a neglected area. You woundnt believe how gross bellybutton gunk can be. It's weird, I can be in a major trauma case involving amputated body parts and buckets of blood, and I'm fine. But show me some mucus or bellybutton gunk, and it's all I can do not to retch. :)

Just for the record, I did have to shave my legs in the middle of the week LOL :rotfl: Thanks to most of you for being good sports and having a laugh with me!

Hey, it's your vacation, so do what you want! If your hair is fair no one will notice anyway. I'd feel gross if I didn't shave my arm pits, and shaving the legs only takes another minute. Shampoo or hair conditioner works just as well as shaving cream imo.

Pack the cheap razor. I use body wash or shampoo as the shaving cream. Works great for the arm pits too.

I am sorry, but this is a common myth. Hair grows the same from the root no matter what. Once you start to remove it from the root via waxing or via lasering it will start to actually thin out some or stop growing completely. But by shaving it does not grow darker. The only thing it does is have a flat tip instead of a long, smooth one.

I am.. But by shaving it does not grow darker. The only thing it does is have a flat tip instead of a long, smooth one.

I never thought the hair grew in darker. I did think that the hair that have never been shaved was lighter because it had been around a while and had a chance to bleach. Before my DDs started shaving their legs, I noticed how light the hair was from being bleached by the sun.

I'm someone who finds shaving their legs very time consuming, mostly from dealing with the shaving cream (and reapplying it). I found these razors with the big razor heads that contain a bar of shaving cream. They are stupidly expensive but I find they really do save time. I can't remember what they are called, I think they are by Schick.

And for the record, I can't believe I am participating in this thread! I think the OP was joking...
