Ummm...ABSOLUTELY it will spoil your child...congrats on having one!!! They are the most fun, and the most work you will ever have!!
I am a complete "doting" mom, who gave up one career (found another) to stay home with her...and, she is one of the MOST spoiled kids EVER....and, dh and I wouldn't have it ANY other way!!!
There is SUCH a short period of time that she will "believe" whole-heartedly in all things Disney (and, in all things magical as well)...who cares if it spoils her...I LIVE to "spoil" her!!!
And, call it a hunch...but, when you first see the face of your beautiful new baby...you will want to spoil him/her, too!!!
My childhood was rough...there was VERY little magic (along with very little of a LOT of things)!!! When my granddad died (in 1980) he left my mom $2000 dollars hidden in an envelope in the garage (so his wife wouldn't know). My mom took EVERY penny of that and took us to WDW where we stayed at the Deluxe resorts for a week...now, we were a family on food stamps and free lunches at school. This was the BEST thing that had ever happened to me....and, it was the ONLY truly magical thing that had ever happened in my life!!! I was hooked!!! And, probably part of the reason that my dd has EVERY Disney thing I can find!! Yes...it ruined me for every other theme park and fair...but, what a WONDERFUL thing to be "ruined" in such a way!! Just to know that there is a place where "magic" not only lives, but thrives changed my perspective about life altogether. It gave me hope that there were people and places that were happy and safe...I really needed that.
If my child becomes a Disney "snob"...so be it...I'll just say that she has really good taste!!! But, I cannot imagine her life not being full of magic for as long as she believes it is real. I think such experiences can truly change our children's perception of the world....and themselves!!
So...like the commercial says...."DVC...$30,000.00...a child who truly believes in magic....Priceless".
