Will Disneyland ruin Star War Land?

This gets parroted on here all the time - and I just don't see it in reality. I've been to Disneyland twice in the past 5-6 years. The first time I went in that span, Disneyland was obviously in need of attention. There just wasn't the level of attention to detail & maintenance out there that we saw in Orlando. I saw peeling paint, grumpy cast members, etc. Three years ago when I went back that had definitely changed, and everything was in shipshape.

I think perhaps what some of you are seeing is the push to bring things up to speed out there that has happened over the past five years. Before that, the place was languishing.

I've never been and probably never will go since it's more trouble and expense than it's worth to travel from coast to coast. I'm just repeating what seems to be the mantra here and elsewhere that Disneyland cares more about repeat visitors.

...and here's the problem with the internet. It has the ability to spread gossip far and wide.

I've been to both and I agree that Disneyland was languishing with "was" being the operative word. They realty turned things around out there and now the hope is that they will do the same at WDW because much of WDW is in that state of languishing. Star Wars Land may or may not be a big part of that. I agree that if it's much like FLE than meh.

Would it be too much to ask for some of that level of immersion that Tokyo enjoys? Why not dream big? ;)

Hm when I sat through the D23 presentation it sounded like it would be different. I could be wrong but they would each be a planet we haven't reached in the outer rim. May have the same rides and food but not necessarily the same planet.

Of course the presentation was back in August so my memory could be fuzzy by now.

No they are intended to be identical (or close to anyway). It's the same planet in both locations. This is a good thing because it reduces development costs a lot which in theory at least leaves more money for building the place.

I know there's a vocal faction wants things to be different at the different parks, but in truth the crossover market it so small that's unneccessary

However I've heard the landscaping was pleased for the DHS version.

I love Star Wars and I'm pumped for the expansion. But I really, really hope the attractions aren't just simulators (a la Star Tours). I want real rides, like an x-wing coaster, or a Death Star flume ride.

See to me those seem like really lame uses of the IP, I'd rather have simulators so there's some real immersion.

They announced the attractions... A battle ride with storm troopers that is rumored to be trackless and a millennium falcon ride where you get to drive the falcon. Both are rumored to be big time e-ticket attractions.
