Will Disney let me make 2 reservations?

I have a reservation for 2 rooms at Pop in December for my family of 5 (big kids). Because my eldest boy is looking for employment, there is a possibility that he would not be able to come. If he didn't, I may want to get one room at WL instead, just to try something different, for the 4 of us. Do you think I could reserve a room there, just in case...and then cancel whichever one I won't need?
