I'm not sure if I should post here or the family board but here is where I lurk the most and it is budget related (at least for me). I would love to try the Kirkland brand diapers (especially since there is a coupon in the latest) book but I'm kinda scared to buy a big box of diapers, not have them work out and then have to spend even more money to buy more diapers. My son only wore pampers and the one time I tried Huggies he broke out in a rash and I had to give the rest of the box to a friend of mine. If I knew Costco would take an opened box back I'll definitely try them out. Anyone have any experience with this? I thought Costco had a money back guarantee on the Kirkland brand but the only things I've ever returned are unopened.

Thanks much!

From their website:

"Merchandise: We guarantee your satisfaction on every product we sell with a full refund. The following must be returned within 90 days of purchase for a refund: televisions, projectors, computers, cameras, camcorders, iPOD / MP3 players and cellular phones."

I asked at the Costco counter when ds was still in diapers if they had a sample since I thought the same as you...didn't want to buy a big box and not like them. They had no samples but told me to feel free to buy and try and if they didn't work out to return them for a full refund. No problem.

Yes, they will take back an opened and partially used box of diapers and I personally have done so twice.
I so badly want to be able to use Kirkland diapers, tried them for DS when he was little and he leaked right out them so back they went. I then tried them for DD and wouldn't you know it - the same thing!
The Kirkland diapers are shaped EXACTLY like Huggies (I think they May even be made by them but not sure). I guess my kids are Pamper shaped.

My nephew uses the Costco diapers for his kids and swears they are the best diapers out there. I guess it depends on the kids. He has a ds4, dd2, and ds 10 months. He has used them since the oldest came home from the hospital. The oldest is out of them, of course, but he still is buying them for the youngest. His daughter is almost potty trained, but is giving them a run for their money. :)

I heard they are made by the same company that makes Huggies, someone told me they are an just older version.

My oldest used pampers at home and Kirkland at day care (she provided them.)
He never had a break out from them, but he would have problems with huggies.:confused3 She used them for all the kids that came through her care. There is NO WAY she would have used them if they leaked. I found that my husband and I were too 'strong' for the tabs on the sides- we ruined so many by ripping them off. I never had that problem with other brands.

I can confirm Kirkland diapers are made by the same company as Huggies (Kimberly Clark), as my hubby works for them. I didn't know about them when DS was a baby, but we used Huggies a lot for him. We were unable to use them for our baby girl. She had chunky thighs and the elastic in the leg area pinched and rubbed her raw. We have only used Pampers since that.

ETA: They are good quality diapers and definitely worth looking into. Just didn't work out for our little chunkster!

We love Costco's diapers. IMO, they are closer to Huggies Supreme than regular Huggies.

And yes, Costco will take them back, no problems, if you don't like them.

deva is right. Costco diapers are great AND there is no problem whatsoever with trying them and returning them if you aren't satisfied. My friend works at Costco and says people return used product months later without any problems.

Now, understand - that probably doesn't mean, in this case, literally used product :rotfl2: but rather the remaining UNused diapers!

Costco takes just about anything back, opened or unopened, half eaten, half drank. I routinely see them take back half drank bottles of wine, half eaten food, you name it. One lady had a cart full of half eaten food she returned and Costco took it back with a smile.

If they're anything like Sam's they'll return any merchandise!! I worked in marketing at Sam's for awhile and they told me they don't make money off the merchandise, only the membership. Their purpose is to make the member happy so they can keep renewing their membership. :thumbsup2

Just an FYI - I've tried them, I don't care for them (my kids are also Pampers' shaped, LOL), that aside, I found them to run small. So if your child is between sizes, go up!
