Will Characters Hold Sign for Prom Question?

Our senior class is going to WDW for a class trip. At our school, students make signs asking their prospective date to go to prom w/them. The student has someone hold the sign up for them, while they ask the girl/boy to go w/them. (Almost like a proposal)
Would a character be willing/able to hold the sign? Any info will be helpful. Thanks

In November we did the Visa card meet and greet on our arrival day and my sister had Minnie & Pluto hold up their "Its A Girl!" banner for her gender reveal. They were super excited to do it. My parents and I didn't know yet so they had us turn our backs and photopass photographer snapped photos during the whole surprise. They told us to turn around and that is how we found out. The CM and characters were so happy and excited and Minnie was hugging all of us in excitement. Eventhough Minnie and Pluto don't "talk" you could really tell from their actions how excited they were to be a part of it. And then they posted it on FB as their reveal. I don't see why you couldn't do it.

Our DD's friend was at WDW on DD's 16th birthday. The friend made a sign wishing DD a Happy Sweet 16 and asked Minnie to hold it for a picture she wanted to send to DD. Minnie's handler told the friend that Minnie couldn't hold it, but she could pose with the friend while she held it. It still made for a very sweet picture, and DD was so surprised and happy at her friend's thoughtfulness.

So, I think the answer is that it depends on the handler. But whether the character holds the sign or the student does, it would still be awesome!

Thanks for the responses.

I have a Disney Visa Card & will be chaperoning the trip. I will look into this further.

I also like the idea of the students posing w/the sign & the character.

I would say no. From what I've heard characters can't be involved in proposals because the person could say no. I would assume the same goes for asking out on dates.

Good point. The student asking about this is dating the girl, so he knows she is going to say yes. I guess he can ask the handler & see what they say.
Thanks

When I was living in Florida, I sent pictures back to my boyfriend for his birthday of his favourite characters posing with me and a sign. I asked Stitch and Aladdin to hold a sign saying "happy birthday Jon, From Stitch" (for eg.) It was a whiteboard, and I asked them to sign their signatures themselves. I don't know if a date proposal is considered any different, but I'd say asking the character attendants, as others have suggested, is your best bet. Personally, I see no reason why not!

Characters all over the park held up a sign congratulating DH on his new job in 2012 (Less than a week before our trip, so he couldn't come with us.) They loved doing it.

I chaperoned a group of kids last year. One of the boys did a "Promposal" via the girls' favorite Princess. The Princess wrote Prom ? in her autograph book for the boy. It was adorable. That sweet boy waited an hour to see the Princess with his girlfriend.
So I would agree with the above post that said it probably depends on the Character and the handler

Along with most, I say just ask.

But being a shy person, I am absolutely utterly beyond glad my school didn't have this tradition. The one prom I went to with an actual boyfriend, the asking was "so we're going together, right?" "Right." And the conversation was done. So easy. It's a dance. Not a wedding. Jinkies.

Yes, times have changed. :)
