Will Central reservations allow you to have more than one reservation at same time?

What is Disney's official policy about having more than one reservation for the same time? Wanted to book two different hotels for a future trip ( one is less expensive than the other). I have done this in the past and cancelled the one I didn't pick many months in advance but not sure this is allowed anymore even though you are putting down two deposits. Thanks. Don't wan to break the rules:) :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I've got three different reservations right now with no problem.

A CM I spoke with recently stated that they are told not to suggest to a guest to do this, but if they ask to, they are to comply.

You can't hold more than one reservation in *your* name unless it's multiple rooms at the same hotel. At least that's what we've been told before....

BUT, you can put one in your name and one in your DH or other traveling companion's name! The name on the credit card and the name on the ressie do not have to match, so you can still pay for both deposits.

That's so strange as I've done this many times before - basically everytime we go because I'm so wishy-washy I can't figure out where I want to stay. No one has ever had a problem doing it.

As long as you've paid the required deposit on a ressie, you can have as many as you want! I understand that TAs such as DU won't let you have a "hold" on more than one ressie at a time, but a "hold" means you have not put down a deposit. Make sense?

I use to hold more than one but have been afraid to do it since they started asking a million questions everytime you call ...I will have to give it a try:) Thanks so much. Anyone else have any experiences with this?

Official Disney policy prohibits more than one reservation by the same guest for the same dates. If they happen to catch it they will contact you to see which you wish to cancel.

I have seen people try to get around the policy by booking one room in one name and the other in a traveling companions name. Just like anything else, it's just a way around the system.

Just be aware that it is against Disney's policy to do this.

I've done it many times and CRO never said a word to me. I do have to put down a deposit.

Like, Lori, I have had more than one ressie, in my name, for different time periods. Often times I have ressies for October and December at the same time, and April and May it seems like. I pay the deposit and no questions have ever been asked.

I would be quite upset if I could not book a stay until the previous one was over!

Yeh, me too. Had no idea there was some kind of policy about it. Like I said earlier, I even had a CM tell me that it's okay if the guest requests it. His exact words - "You know Disney - all about pleasing the guest."

But that was the first time anyone had ever even hinted that you couldn't do it, and he was just simply responding to me when I said I wanted to make a second reservation at PC in case AP codes didn't come out for my POFQ reservation.

I've been doing this for years with no problem. When I called a few weeks ago when the codes came out, I only had the two reservations, PC and POFQ. I was only able to get a discounted rate at CBR and PC, so I added a second room at PC but told her to add CBR and leave POFQ until I could make up my mind. So she definitely knew I now had three reservations and never even made a comment.

I think you misunderstood. You cannot have more than one reservation for the SAME DATES, not different dates.

I know that some people do this with no problems--but if they see 2 reservations for the same person in the system for the same dates they will likely contact you to see which you want.

Is it likely that they would notice this--not necessarily, but it is possible with their new system upgrades.

In addition, this is to keep people from holding rooms at multiple resorts just to cancel one or the other later when they decide which they want. This ties up resort inventory and keeps others from being able to book the rooms. Again, this is something they have recently begun to crack down on (within the last year.)

The original poster did ask what the official policy is on this--and Disney's official policy is ONE reservation for the same person for the same dates.
