Will Avatar be another Soarin'?

So is AVATAR: Flight of Passage just going to be the same ride mechanics as Soarin'? If so, that is going to be incredibly disappointing. I was hoping for at least another thrill ride.

Na'vi River Journey will be a boat ride, like Living with the Land or Small World as well right?

Sweet! Any idea if it's going to be a single screen and room like The Simpsons Ride? Or will it move around like Spiderman/Transmorphers

Either way it's something new and exciting, & that's all that matters...Right?

Thrill rides are fine but WDW isn't all about that....It's mostly about the theming...No?

I think it's going to be more along the lines of the Harry Potter ride where you will move through the experience and also have the virtual simulation screen(s).

We can all hope that it's like Forbidden Journey at IoA. Went to US/IoA for the first time in almost 20 years (there wasn't an IoA back then) this past weekend, and all I can say is WOW! Universal has really stepped it up a notch or ten. Forbidden Journey is the best ride in Orlando IMO....bar none. The ride mechanism, along with the screens, the cue, the outside...it's all fantastic. Escape to Gringott's is excellent, as well.

I read that it's going to be the same technology used in the Shanghai POTC ride. I don't know which aspects of the ride, but that sounds promising to me!

Without knowing a single thing about the ride, I am absolutely certain that A-FoP won't be anywhere near as intense or frenetic as FJ. Lots of people need a chiropractor or a neck brace after riding FJ, and I am deadbang certain that Disney will not make its focal ride at Avatarland as punishing as that. The concept of moving around and seeing things in 3D may be similar. But the constant ups, downs, twists and turns of FJ are probably going to be too intense for Disney's tastes. And if I am right, I would have to say that I agree with that approach. While I enjoyed FJ, I don't think that a trip through scenic Pandora needs to be as choppy and abusive as a ride on a broomstick. I sincerely hope that this is not another: "Oh no! Something went wrong. We're out of control" simulator ride. I was done with those way back in the Body Wars days. Didn't like them then. Don't like them now.

Ooh, really? That video of Shanghai POTC is INCREDIBLE! I only watched part of it, but I was in awe.
I have to believe that the next generation of attractions at WDW, (with the exceptions of FEA and Toy Story Land--I am talking Avatar and SW here), will have us saying #ThanksShanghai, in a good way this time.
