Just wondering how many of you will watch Dan Rather's interview with Saddam Hussein tonight. I will out of sheer morbid curiosity. I imagine I'll know within the first couple minutes if it's worth spending my time on.

I am sure if I don't watch it straight through that it will be part of my channel surfing ones that I go back and forth with.

Nah!!

I'm sure it won't change my mind about him and I've already heard most of the leaks about what he said.

Nope, any more than my watching the Prez's all networks posturing he had to get in first.

No !!! I have better things to do than watch two soul mates have a chit chat on tv!!!

We saw it. Typical Sadaam.

I watched more of "Celebrity".

Was there any major shocking news?

Nothing unexpected, nothing new. Same old, same old Saddam. You could tell the interview was highly edited - the shots were very chopped up. I assume they were edited to Saddam's approval before it could be aired.

Did you hear how the tape was done? CBS was not allowed to bring anything. No camera, no translator, nothing. They were shuffled around to another location and were transported with miltiple cars before they got to meet him. After the interview was done, they were returned to their hotel and the tape was delivered hours later.

I felt sorry for that one translator who referred to Bush Sr. as just 'Bush' and Hussein corrected him. Hussein wanted him referred to as "Mr. Bush" to show respect. That had me scoffing, considering the assassination plot Hussein had hatched. On the other hand, I felt bad for the translator. Considering the stories you hear of Hussein's brutality and impatience, I wondered if the guy was alright afterwards.

I had seen bits and pieces of it prior. Did not seem to be anything new...he is not giving up the missles...blah blah....
It was on during the West Wing, I never miss the West Wing :)
