Will any of the food I bring in be a problem?

We are planning on bringing food into the parks for the 1st time ever, and I wanted to see if any of it would raise a red flag at the gate.

PB&J sandwiches
Sandwich baggies of chips
String Cheese
Whole fruit/ sandwich baggies of cut fruit
Snack Cakes
Granola bars
Fruit snacks
Bottles of water

I guess I am the most worried about them saying no to the cut fruit and string cheese because they are refrigerated items, but this is for 3 adults (despite this looking like an elementary lunchbox :lmao: ) so we are well aware of temperature danger zones.

Thanks in advance!! The last thing I want to do is buy all these groceries to save money and end up not being able to use it :guilty:

As long as you don't have any glass, you should be fine. :)

The last couple times we visited we made up some pb&js and put them in a cheezit or cracker box to keep them from getting crushed in the backpack we had the snacks in. Your list of snacks is not going to keep you from getting in the park ;). If anything they just make you throw stuff out that isn't allowed, like bottles of beer :p.

They aren't looking at your food. They are looking for weapons, glass and alcohol. That's it.

Bring whatever you want to eat.

They don't concern themselves with your food storage temperatures. :) Bring what you want and enjoy.

The only things that are ever a problem are glass, alcohol, and at AK straws (they are not allowed because they are a danger to the animals). And you can't bring it in a wheeled cooler and drag it around. Otherwise, you are good to go!

At the four major parks (AK, DHS, EC, MK) coolers are restricted to "small, soft-sided, which can fit in a locker". And they cannot be rolling bags.

The only restrictions that apply to all parks (theme and water) are nothing in glass containers (other than medicines and baby food) and no alcoholic beverages.

Some things people don't think about (which tend to be in glass) are pickles, salsa, Mayonnaise, Starbucks drinks, Snapple drinks, Tabasco.

At the water parks any type or size cooler is acceptable. I have seen people come through the gate (Typhoon Lagoon) hauling wheeled coolers about 4' x 3' x 2½'. Note that the cooler can be on two wheels or carried, but the way the rules are written you can not have it in a wagon and it cannot have four wheels.

If you show up at the gate with prohibited items we will give you three choices:
(1) Take prohibited items back to your car or resort.
(2) Put prohibited items in the nearby trash can.
(3) (Only for other than alcoholic beverages) If you have plastic bags or cups you can dump the items out of the glass containers and throw away the container.

Not sure about WDW but at DLR they (unofficially) allow pre-made food items but not "ingredients" to make food. A PB&J sandwich is fine, loaf of bread, peanut butter & jelly would not be.

My daughter brought pretty much all her food in - thermos of lentils, beans, veggies. Salads, with beans & dressing. With no problems.

No problem. We bring in our lunch almost every day while there. We have a backpack cooler and have one of our waters frozen as an ice pack.

As long as the cooler isn't rolling, you are fine.

As suggested before, freeze some of your water bottles or use ice packs to keep the food cold, that will help. Although most of your food isn't a big problem if it doesn't stay cold. I would go for the water bottles frozen, no extra ice needed and it will work well. You'll have no problems with the food. I brought food in on our trip in October, there are no issues except for those other have brought up. Enjoy your trip!
