Too many unfunny anti-Trump jokes. Very disappointing. I'll try again next week to see if it gets less partisan and more funny.

I really wanted to like it..

It feels like they were still trying to shake the rust off. The timing wasn’t as quick as it used to be. Granted, it’s been off the air a long time but it wasn’t as good as it was hyped to be.

Hopefully it gets better as time goes on.

Overall I liked it and will watch again. I feel like at times, the canned laughter stepped on the jokes a little and you can tell they were trying to get in to the groove again. At other times, the banter was as if they had been doing this all along and it felt like old school Will and Grace. Hopefully, after a few episodes, they will fall right back in to it.

Deborah Messing (who I never thought was as funny as she seems to think she is) - several of her line readings came off mechanical. The rest of the gang were great, although the material was lame.

Even with a studio audience the laughs are "sweetened" to get the desired results. I doubt the audience was busting a gut at every lame one liner as in that episode.

I was really, really excited to watch this. Then I was really, really sad that I hated it. I love the old show and I was disappointed by the political theme of this one. I also kind of expected them to grow up and act their age instead of just a continuation of what it used to be. I won't be watching it again.

IMHO I don't think we'll see the amount of politics in last nights episode in the entire season. Think about it, this episode is a bridge addressing the ending of the series, ending of "just Jack" and the short that was put out around the election that brought the series back. They had to address all of these things in one episode so it can move on.

But I also loved how the jokes just weren't just about current politics but about the white house itself. Karen and Nancy Reagan "chasing Ronnie around the desk trying to get some protein in the ole gipper" , Karen's martini quote "What's with the Laura Bush pour, give me the full Pat Nixon" (my fave joke) and "Barb SR give 41 the full pile driver over the read my lips BS". I was howling over her one liners. But we also got to see the ole Will and Grace with a silly pillow fight in the oval office.

They absolutely do, though. I went on the WB studio tour and they brought us on the set of The Big Bang Theory where they explained it all. What they do is mic the audience in sections, and record it all. Then if one section is giving some good laughs, they can turn that up, and lower the sections that aren't responding. If someone has a particularly good laugh they will accentuate it, which is when you hear a really loud "HA!" or something. It's all real laughter, but it is "sweetened" as @L&Lfan mentioned above. If the volumes were too high, then it's just a bad mixing job.

I'll give it one more week, but I have to say I didn't really care for this episode. Total overload on the political jokes, and the rest just seemed like a rehash of old jokes from the original.
