Will and Grace

Deborah Messing (who I never thought was as funny as she seems to think she is) - several of her line readings came off mechanical. The rest of the gang were great, although the material was lame.

I don't think Debra Messing thinks she is funny L&Lfan. In fact, in interviews they all seemed to make fun of the fact that she doesn't carry a sense of humour in real life, like the other three. And it all was more work for her. She's humble about it all not "I think I am so funny".

I love Grace. My favourite character hands down and back around. In fact, I don't think that the show would have ever worked without her to bounce off of with all the over the top antics.

To this day I still laugh out loud about two episodes/scenes with her -

One was Grace flipping through a magazine, looking down - never looking up but taking in a conversation around her, and she suddenly goes ----

I used to think I was a lesbian. Then I realized it was WAY too much work. I just like to lie there. :rotfl2:

And the other was a Thanksgiving Day episode that I have never been able to find where she is totally breaking down, needs to salt the tomatoes :rotfl: and calls Leo and Will and President and Vice President of Things That Make Sense. The best. Laughing just thinking about her lines and timing. Mira Sorvino was guest starring as an ex of Leo's. If anyone knows what season that was, please let me know.

This episode was just okay for me. I was uncomfortable with all the politics and I'm well... Canadian.

But it is the first show back. We are all probably watching too closely, too intimately because we enjoyed the past series.

And someone mentioned Debbie Reynolds. They were great together, Messing and her. It's a shame. Would have loved to have had her back on the show.

Found it.:worship: Last Ex to Brooklyn episode. Season six, episode two. And it wasn't even Thanksgiving. Laughing. My memory is fantastic!
'
And duh to me. Never even thought of looking at Mira Sovino's pages to find the episode.

That episode is one of my favourites. . I won’t write out the whole joke, but Will’s comeback about riding the crazy train is perfection.

Is that the one where she sings 'you spin me right round' to Will? lololol

I'm not sure. :rotfl2: All I remember is Grace was so beautifully passive aggressive. Priceless. I think she found out that her liaison with Will, from college, wasn't quite as she remembered it.

I wasn't the person to watch the episodes when they were on during the actual seasons but I did catch myself watching them when they were on syndication (just not regularly).

I do enjoy how the main characters mesh with each other and that's a main reason for watching it.

But I will say I was disappointed that they didn't attempt to do something different....as in I'm really really really tired of all the political stuff on TV (it's on too many shows now). To me it just made it seem ordinary and boring because that's the it thing to do nowadays and tv is way oversaturated with that now. There were parts to the episode that I did laugh and enjoy but it just made me disappointed they didn't try to think outside the box that is "let's ram political (and by that mostly about the currently president) down people's throats".

But I'll continue to record it and we'll see if the next few episodes have just a wee bit less political stuff (and hopefully it's like what another poster mentioned and this doesn't continue throughout the whole season).

Next week they're supposed to tackle an issue particularly pertinent to the gay (especially male) community and it's not political. Hope they keep the political "jokes" to a minimum.

What a memory you have Teresa. :thumbsup2 (and @kimblebee )

Just watched it online. Diane (Mira Sorvino), Leo's ex, happens to be the only woman that Will has slept with and that pretty well puts Grace on the crazy train. And Diane does make reference to that song, about her time with Will.

I could practically recite that episode word for word. There’s a couple episodes I will watch any time they are on and that’s on of them.

Karen hitting on her all night is hilarious too..and the dog..

The jokes about you-know-who didn't bother me at all, they just weren't particularly clever. I'll take Colbert's writing staff over the stale jokes on this show any day. Sad, because I do like all the characters on Will and Grace a lot.

Yeah that's how I felt too. I think it's the jokes were easy and there wasn't anything fresh or clever about them. I'll give it a few more episodes to see if it improves.

Planning to watch this weekend. I definitely won't mind the subject matter of the jokes, but it sounds like I'll be disappointed in how well they are written. Bummer.

I loved it!

I thought the jokes were spot-on and relevant, and funny AF.

My favorite bit was the first scene, where they explained to "Karen" (but really to the audience) where things stood with the story arcs, then at the end, Jack looks at the camera (bur "really" is looking at Grace) and says "got it?"

I also liked Karen and Jack's Secret Service gag at the end. "Shhh! It's a secret!"

I just watched the show because I didn't realize it had aired. I thought it was really funny. The episode was described as being about politics, so I don't get the complaint, as they were very Will & Grace about it (hypocrites), and I would not expect the show to essentially run on the same theme. I didn't like the redone theme song, though...that was kinda painful.
