Will AKL still be there when AKV is done

I was looking at the plan for AKV in my book today and it shows then doing construction in pretty much all parts of AKL. How much of the lodge will be left when the AKV rooms are done. Was AKL not as sucessful as Disney wanted so they made it DVC. OR is there only certain rooms being converted.

Only certain rooms in the Lodge are being converted to DVC. The majority of the DVC villas will be in an entirely new building which will be ready in 2009.

I believe the AKL rooms being remodeled for DVC will be restricted to the 5th & 6th floors. They are calling this phase of AKV Jambo House. I think it was done this way for 2 reasons:

1) to help fill the vacancies at the AKL building
2) to allow them to start selling AKV sooner

The are building a brand new building next to AKL just for AKV units that will be called Kidani Village.

I don't think that AKL occupancy met Disney expectations. During the last couple of years, every time I tried to book WL on-line, it and other deluxes were sold out, but AKL was offered as a alternate. DVCers have a history of snatching up property that the other resorts would not consider, and we want more.
