Hi everyone, My fiance and I are thinking about taking a vacation to Disney during the summer 2003....the week after the 4th of July. I would like to know what everyone thinks of the Wilderness Lodge? We would like to stay on Disney property but cannot break the bank by staying at The GF if you know what I mean! We would like your input on any of the deluxe hotels.

Thanks!!!

The WL is an amazing hotel. It is one of my favorites. Everything from the lobby to the northeast feel of it.

Here are some great pictures of the WL

Hello,
We are honeymooning in Disney Feb 9-16 and we are staying at the WL. I have asked around and done LOTS of research and have heard nothing but good things. Even the cast memeber at disney when I booked the room said it was a good decision. I have heard that the rooms are a little smaller than an average deluxe hotel room but they are also a little cheaper. I have fallen in love with it and can not wait to see it.
I have also heard that it is a good choice for couples for some reason.
Anyway, hope this helps!! Read through the doards, or do a search on it and you will find a lot of info...
Thanks,
Tiffany

We thought the Wilderness Lodge was lovely and I have eaten at Artist Point and it was one of my favorite restaurants. The lowest price rooms there are often a good deal, as are the standard view rooms at AKL and the garden wing standard view rooms at the contemporary. I like all three of these resorts very much. Remember that at the CR, you have the monorail access which is very convenient, but for a couple without kids and trying not to break the bank, you may find more romance at the WL or the AKL lowest price rooms. With my kids, I would pick CR for the convenience or AKL for the animals.

We have stayed at the WL three times and love it. We are afraid to switch resorts because we like it there so much and that we would be disappointed somewhere else. Have a great time!

Great theming, wonderful cast members, romantic ambience and one of my favorite restaurants (Artists Point) is what you'll find at the Wilderness Lodge.

Originally designed as a "moderate" resort, its popularity grew to the point that Disney decided to re-name it a "deluxe", price it accordingly (rooms ARE smaller) and add a few perks, such as daily newspaper service and ironing board/iron, coffee maker etc. You can spend a day or two just roaming its many levels, or walking its beautiful grounds. You can watch the Electric Water Pageant from its beaches and rent bikes to peruse its paths. A water taxi is at the ready for a leisurely ride over to the Magic Kingdom.

Now that I've said all that--can I come with you?? LOL:smooth:
Have fun, Wilma:wave:
