We're going to the Wilderness Lodge in August. Is there a preferred room location? We've never stayed there before. Can I request a specific room location?? Thanks!!:hippie:

Yes, you can request a certain view, but they will not guarantee that you get it. I think most of the time you do, however. Some people like courtyard and some like woods view. Having had the latter, I can say I enjoyed it recently, especially since we had a view of the MK fireworks from our balcony, a first for us!

we had courtyard last year and loved it. It did get noisy but you just close the doors and everything is nice and quiet. We enjoyed watcheing the boats to and from the park , the geyser going off hourly, the wife got to watch my daughter and me swim while my son napped etc. Going this August and asked for the same room again

When we stayed there we had the courtyard view. It was very nice, but some of them can get very far away from the lobby. I believe it took at least 8 minutes to get from the lobby to our room with normal elevator wait times.

The Courtyard view rooms also include the view of the Wilderness Lodge Villas pool - so you won't always see the lake/geyser, main pool area.

I really love the courtyard view, especially of the view of the main pool. It is perfect for people watching!

Happy Planning!

rcraw45425,

Was that just a regular room, or was it a deluxe? If it was a regular room, did it have 2 queen beds, king bed, or queen & bunk? Seems like these few rooms in this area would have some great views!

Regular room, two queens, non smoking. It was right as you turn the corner, if walked back toward the lobby area about a dozen steps there was a small window overlook into Artist's Point. In the other direction around a corner was an elevator that came out by the laundry and Rolling Forks ( the counter service dining place). You could go out a door to the pool and the walk to the boat launch area. Great area.

The location that you receive when you check-in at the Wilderness Lodge will depend on what room type you booked when you made your reservation. There are Standard View, Woods View, Woods View with Bunk Beds, Courtyard View, Courtyard View Bunk Beds, then you have the Club Level that includes Concierge. If you share what type room you booked we can tell you which areas of the Lodge that would give you the best view for your room type.

Hi Magic... We booked a "woods view". I was wondering if there was a specific location that we could request or are they all the same?? :goodvibes

Thanks for the info! I have never been to WDW (been to DL many times), but hopefully will be going in 2 years (for honeymoon... need to finish my graduate work first). We are really looking at staying at the WL since we love going to the Sierra Nevada, and my DBF grew up in the mountains. Just seems so cozy and relaxing at the WL!

Thanks again!

The Woods View rooms are located on both the North and South outer sides of the Lodge. Most of the Woods View room on the south side look out toward the Wilderness Lodge Villas, with a few trees, some overlook roof tops with trees in the distance.

The Woods View on the North side overlook an otter pond and sections of Bay Lake, with the Magic Kingdom and the Contemporary Resort/Monorail in the distance...Most guest with the woods view prefer the North side of the Lodge on the 5th or 6th floor the higher rooms offer the best views of Wishes fireworks at night. There are also a few Woods View rooms off the main Lobby.

When I book a Woods View I request North Side, 5th floor, near the elevator overlooking the otter pond. We never request specific room #'s as this limits the room assigner's options.

If you click on the link below it will give you a general lay-out of the Lodge and the areas that are listed as Woods Views.

Wow, great information. Thanks! I've stayed at the WL many times with my fam and once with friends. We had wood's view and were surprised to have a view of the castle. I booked wood's again for this summer and was wondering how to get the same view again. THANKS!!

We currently have a Courtyard Bunk Bed Room. Wasn't really my first choice...was thinking a woods view would be good, as we are all light sleepers and I'm afraid the Courtyard will be noisy.

Any suggestions what I should put on the reservation request to try to get a quiet room? It looks like the upper levels might be better??'

We also have courtyard bunkbed room, I was wondering if these rooms are in a certain area also, maybe we would have been better off just getting courtyard but the bunks w/courtyard were all they had with free DDP

Both of our previous trips to WL were Courtyard bunkbeds on the first floor, North side. We loved it! Location was pretty quiet...except for the water pageant that cruised by each night around 9:35ish. Other than that, it was great. We actually walked out our patio to the pool. No elevator to mess with. We are getting a woods view this time for a change of pace, but I would be very happy to stay in the courtyard again;)
