When I began my search for where to stay in Disneyworld, I had a few things in mind. Close to MK, a nice pool, good transportation, etc. Well all of these added up to the WL. Being from the Pacific Northwest the last place I wanted to stay was in a PNW themed resort! Were vacationing in Florida for crying out loud! Why do I want to stay in a lodge? Well, long story short, we made the right choice. Such a wonderful place, friendly CMs, easy access to MK, good transportation, you name it. We arrived late at night, around midnight and we found the lodge pretty much empty. This gave us time to see the pool area undisturbed. It was a gorgeous night and the kids wanted to go swimming. Well, we had to get up in only a few hours and visit our first park, so I convinced them to wait until later that afternoon.
We had requested bunk beds for our kids and a non-smoking room. We were able to get our requests granted. Room 6048 was our home for the next 7 nights. The view wasnt the greatest we had the service entry side, lots of deliveries early in the morning, but through the trees we could see Cinderellas castle and Space Mountain. After seeing those we didnt even notice the big garbage dumpsters below us.
We had a nice Mickey Mouse towel display waiting for us in our room and was the first of many towel displays for the week. We did make sure to tip our artists!
The room was large enough for us and the kids totally loved the bunk beds.
Would I stay here again? Let me think Of course! I dont know if I want to stay anywhere else! Staying at the value resorts would make sense $$ wise, same for the moderates, but hmmmm. Ill have to cross that bridge when I come to it. Looks like that bridge will be in 2007!
One last thing, I want to thank each and every DISer for providing me with so much information, all of it useful. Their responses were my inspiration for my own report. You all may not realize it, but you provide piece of mind to parents, like me, who have never been to WDW and dont know what to expect. My trip was all based on input that I was able to find here. I cant even imagine going to WDW without visiting this site. I seriously would have been overwhelmed. I wouldnt have known about the Flag Family at the WL (we werent selected, but thats ok), fastest routes to places, Dole Whips, best places to eat, secret places to sneak away from crowds, etc. You all made me look like a hero to my wife and kids for giving them the vacation of a lifetime. I hope you can all have that feeling one day. I, and my family, will never, ever forget this trip.
