Three Things...Gratitude Thread

I have to include summer produce, especially tomatoes, corn on the cob, and watermelon. (And if in Maine, blueberries!)

Iced drinks, even though I seem to be drinking iced coffee year-round now.

The smell of BBQs in the neighborhood. I rarely eat meat, but I still like the smell of BBQ

..Happy Summerween!!
🎃🍉👻🎃🍉👻🎃🍉👻
(For those who don't know, "Summerween" comes from a television show called Gravity Falls. I never actually watched it, but have been seeing ideas on Pinterest and Instagram, so I looked it up.)

Today's Topic (Sun, 6/22) - 3 random holiday things you're grateful for (things you look forward to on various holidays, "holiday" dishes you make when it's not even a holiday, that one decoration you just can't pack away, etc.)

Good Sunday Morning

#1 - New Years Day - Relaxing all day, it’s my one day off from life and I’m very grateful for it every year.

#2 - Easter - I’m grateful for my collection of dried palms that are in a vase. These palms date back to when we moved into this house 21 years ago, There’s a lot in this vase and I will continue adding to them as long as there’s room in the vase. These palms are displayed in my living room.

#3 - Christmas Eve - I’m grateful for our low key family night which is 5pm Mass, picking up a stuffed pizza on the way home and eat it while watching The Polar Express and then Christmas With the Kranks. It’s a wonderful night

My bunnies - I have a collection of stone bunnies that originally purchased for Easter and not so much Easter working but their bunny rabbits I just leave them out all year or I should say I decorate with them all year

Green bean casserole it started off as a holiday dish but we all like it so much we got so we made it all the time it lost it’s holiday status

I have a few special nutcrackers that I leave out all year round I bought them years ago in the German pavilion at EPCOT

Just catching up on the past few days now I'm home!

Summer foods:
1. Ice cream - preferably the soft scoop or whipped kind, or even gelato, that come in various different exciting flavours.
2. Strawberries - my favourite fruit and can't beat British strawberries in the summertime
3. Alcoholic slushies - sadly these aren't very common at home but I wish they did, I love the various versions you can get in WDW!

Holidays:
1. Food & drink you only get at holiday time - I love the wide variety of foods and drinks and sweet treats that get released during the holidays that aren't around the rest of the year.
2. Time off - holidays usually signify extra days off work for which I am always grateful for some extra rest.
3. Christmas lights - i love having Christmas lights up both inside and outside my house, as they look so festive and bright and generally just make me feel happy to see them. I'd keep them up all year round if I could!

Holiday things . . .

Stuffing - I could eat that every week, not just for Thanksgiving.

Christmas music - I make use of all the Christmas in July stuff to listen to my holiday music, and start listening the first of November too.

Holiday decorations - taking an ordinary day and making it extraordinary. I do keep my Haunted Mansion art and decor out year round though.

I love keeping my little Christmas tree up all year and turn the lights on from time to time when I need cheering up.

I also love keeping up my Christmas card holder all year. When the next year’s cards start coming in I decide what to save and then put up the new ones for the next year.

I guess it’s a Christmas trifecta for me because I occasionally listen to Christmas music at other times during the year, especially WDW Christmas loops and music box Christmas music.

Good early Monday friends.

Light pink carnations that are budding are my favorite flower.

Sunrise with streaks of pink in the sky by my faith belief are an extra reminder of God's Presence fresh in and with me daily.

Minty, my childhood stuffed animal rabbit who has been with me forever is pink :)

Good Monday Morning

I do like pink a lot 💕

#1 - My Pink Flamingos - I have several on the back deck. The newest addition is a wind chime from Ron Jon’s in Cocoa Beach

#2 - My Pink Summertime Clothes - They are all so summery and fun

#3 - My Pink Flowers - This time of year I do enjoy looking at my flowers. My chenille plant is my favorite every year - it has fun pink flowers that look like pink caterpillars or pink cheese puffs growing out of it.

Pink Flowers 🌼 I currently have some pink petunias and they’re absolutely gorgeous

I agree pink in the sky is a really pretty and then I will end up saying that famous saying pink skies at night sailors delight pink skies in morning sailors take warning
I don’t know why I do it but every time I see it it just placed through my head

My little pink sweater - I spent months looking for a little pink sweater to take on a cruise with me I needed it to go with all the little dresses I had purchased to wear on the cruise in the dining room because it’s freezing in those dining rooms ymmv but I’m always cold so I wanted a little pink sweater because that color would go with every single dress that I had and I was finally lucky the fine one I liked and just the right size and shape to go with my dresses 😊 so I’m very grateful for my little pink sweater
