Wilderness Lodge Photo Thread- Please feed my addiction!!

When we went during that time, we stayed at the Poly, but went over to WL for dinner and breakfast on two seperate days...and since we knew this would be the resort we'd be staying at for our next trip, we took some pics!

Those pictures are just awesome!! I'm convinced we made the right choice now, for sure. Thanks so much for sharing. Anymore??:thumbsup2

The light fixture shots are awesome; especially the one with the pine needles. You have a creative eye--my DH will appreciate them as well. Love the theme of the WL.:thumbsup2

The pictures are outstanding!! Love the totems. DS21 is going to school in Anchorage, AK and the totems are exactly what you see there!! It's that keen eye you have that wakes us up to something everyone may take for granted as they just walk by. Thanks for sharing again. So excited to go next week and look more closely. This time--no children. Very strange, but excited as well. Please keep them coming. Hope Disney takes notice of your imagination!! :thumbsup2

How do you get such superb lighting in your photos? What do you shoot with and what settings are you shooting in? These pictures are absolutely gorgeous, better than the photos disney has up!

You are too kind.:goodvibes They were taken with the Canon Rebel xti a little over a year ago. It's kind of funny looking at them now, because they look a little drab to me now. Not sure of the exact settings without going back and digging them up, but definately longer exposures using a tripod and remote release. You have to set up and scan looking for oncoming people before tripping the release to get a photo without people walking into the picture. I had a brand new lens that I really wanted to try out on our last trip this past Dec. but the lights were not on in the fountain and we had our grandson on his first trip so I took very few photos of anything but him. Looking forward to this Dec. We are already booked.:cool1:

good to know! I have been shooting with an XTI for about a year now. I'll def have to remember my tripod when I am back in WDW this may. what lens(es) are you using? I'm looking into buying the "nifty 50" as everyone calls it to do some portrait work. What is your most fave lens to bring to disney?

I have the 50 that I wish I had never bought just because I have probably only attached it a couple of times. I have the 85mm f/1.8 that is really great for portraits and rarely use it either. I am not a photographer, so I rarely use my camera except on trips or birthdays, etc. My most used lens and the one the photos you mentioned were taken with was a 18-55mm f3.5 I believe. The new lens that will now be my favorite is the Canon EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS USM. That is AWESOME and I can't wait to use it at Disney.:thumbsup2

GREAT photos KAT!:cool1: We took our grandson (almost 3) for his first trip to WDW this past year and upon seeing the hoof prints in the concrete he called them "toe tracks" so know we will forever know them to be toe tracks. He was so cute. He actually got down on all fours trying to walk in them.:rotfl2: Thanks for your wonderful pictures.:thumbsup2
