Wilderness Lodge Photo Thread- Please feed my addiction!!

i have read that the rooms are tired and worn - i had put that question out on the main board and got 6 or 7 responses that, yes they were like a motel 8!
then i got a response saying the rooms had been redone in 2005
is that correct?
thanks!:confused3

We just got back, and our room was in great shape. I'm not sure when they were redone, but it must've been recently. They've been upgraded to include the newest electronics - 30" flat screen tv, iHome, coffee maker (coffee's not that good, though). The lighting was nice, and it was very spacious. It is far from being on the same scale as a motel 8.

Thank you to everyone for posting so many wonderful photos on this thread. We were able to switch to a 1BR Villa for our Christmas trip next year and couldn't be more excited!! We're leaving in a week for our annual January trip to BWV, and I keep thinking about WL instead!!

Thank you everyone for all your pics and memories. We are Staying at WL in september for 10 nights. It will be our first trip At Wl and it gets more exciting everyday that i look at theses pics.

My brother and I had a standard room in May 2009. My brother strongly opposes paying more money for the view (unless its AKL) so we lucked out when the Standard room became available. I really enjoyed the savings, and since we don't hang out on the balcony the only thing I requested was that we be close to the lobby. When we checked in, We had the most AWESOME CM who was helping us. Our original room was going to be overlooking the service area, but since I had heard about the noise, I asked him if a different one was going to be available even if it was further from the lobby, we were willing to wait. He hooked us up! Not an upgrade, but we loved this room! Here is a sorta picture of our view through the curtains (its of the roof, but not the same infamous roof room)

But I think we had an awesome "view" when we just went outside our front door!!

We were thrilled!!

We are booked at WL February 17 (2 Weeks from today!!!) for little brothers 18th birthday. We have a woods view because we couldn't get standard, we're hoping for another great room!

Great pics.!!!!! We are so excited for our 1st stay at the WL!!!!!!! Hurry up April!:cool1:

These pictures are GREAT!! We're looking to stay at the WL for the first time ever (we've never even visited it!) 11/26/11 - 12/3/11. I am now literally counting down!!

One question... can you see the MK fireworks from anywhere on the WL property? Like the beach perhaps?

nathanyell....those are some beautiful pictures. I can't wait to try my hand at some photos when I visit in May!

Does anyone have any recent photos of a studio at the villas? We are thinking of swithching to a studio from a woods view. I checked allears but the photos seem really dated.

GREAT photos KAT!:cool1: We took our grandson (almost 3) for his first trip to WDW this past year and upon seeing the hoof prints in the concrete he called them "toe tracks" so know we will forever know them to be toe tracks. He was so cute. He actually got down on all fours trying to walk in them.:rotfl2: Thanks for your wonderful pictures.:thumbsup2

Just getting back to this thread - love the "toe tracks" DizneyNutz! Thanks for the compliments on the photos! :goodvibes

Great photos! Which lens are you using?

Thank you Nicole786! Sorry I was so long in answering this. Many of the photos were taken with the 28-135mm f/4 Minolta and the really wide angle ones with the 12-24mm Sigma.

Yes you can! We watched the MVMCP fireworks a couple of nights from the beach and I believe DizneyNutz had posted some firework shots taken from the large balcony at the front of the lodge.

Here's a couple of quick shots from the beach:

Here's a couple from our room in Nov. We had a 2 BR lockoff which means one half of it was a studio that connected to a 1BR. While we were there they were beginning to switch out the TV's to flat panels. I think I've heard that is completed.

VWL Studio TV armoir and table. This shows the connecting door to the 1BR which of course would be locked if you only had the studio. There are two chairs for the table but we used one to prop open the door.
