DisneyNutz, I loved reading about your grandson.
My son & I are both roller coaster junkies so I feel his love for the rides !! My son's first coaster ride was Big Thunder Mountain railroad & I still have the Mickey train that we bought in the store afterwards because he carried it around in his hand the entire day after that. He is now 14 & I will always see him at at that age carrying that little train around in his hands!!

I am glad you had a great trip, but now you need a vacation from the vacation, huh??

I know I am going to have the same thoughts about the Lights of Wonder, I sent Disney a "nice" email with my sadness about not putting them up this year. I LOVED being able to sit on a bench & watch the lights, enjoy the music, & soak up the tree all in that special spot at Epcot, so I am very saddened about that choice by Disney.

We returned yesterday evening. We were there for a week. I believe I had mentioned that we were taking our oldest grandson (almost 3 Years old) and his mom on their first ever trip. I carried several pounds of Camera gear and a camcorder every day (not to mention him often times), but could not get away and find time on this trip for photos other than of him enjoying WDW and meeting the characters. Although I didn't get to walk around taking photos of the lodge this trip, it was well worth it for me to see him experience it all. By the way, we were very dissapointed that the waterfall out back was not lit at all our entire trip. Anyhow DisneyNDecember you will have to take enough for the both of us. Wishing you and yours the most magical trip.

Sounds like you had a nice trip DizneyNutz even if you didn't get to do your normal photography. On our trip it seemed like the only think I got a chance to take pictures of was some at the lodge. We had our longest stay at WDW and I took my fewest pictures. Part of having more people with us I think.

But - the waterfall light was working in November!

I hope the waterfall lighting is on when we are there in 4 days. I am already upset about the Lights of Wonder, but I am trying to let that go.

I too am already planning my next December trip & I have not even finished this one !!!

Yes we did have a great time and developed many new memories of the lodge. I believe you are correct about having more people with you, especially if they have never visited before. Your pictures are awesome by the way and thanks for sharing them. We are also already planning our next December trip and also trying to figure out how how to possibly squeeze in an early summer trip around other commitments I have coming up.

Here's wishing the waterfall lights on for your trip. We did get to ride the newly refurbished Space Mountain 3 times, EE twice and BTMR once, so I got in my ride fix even if I didn't manage to take many photos. Have a great trip.

Sorry to say I agree I was disappointed about the Epcot lights it just wasn't the same and the crowds were very heavy at times.

But staying focus on the positive this visit I planned time to just sit in the lobby and enjoy the beautiful tree and the resort and thanks to your pics Kat I ran around and found all the little hide aways you shared with us.

Thank You very much. Glad you had a great time and enjoyed the lodge. I miss not coming back with a bunch of new photos, but wouldn't have traded it for the memories that we gained having our grandson see it for his first time. I can always take more photos later, but the experiences can't be relived. Looking forward to our next trip.

Loving the pics! we are doing a vow renewal at disney for our 20th anniversary in july 2010 and have booked our first stay at club level at HM suite at WL. I am excited, even if it is only a couple of days....
