As someone who lost a BIL in Tower 1 HOW DARE YOU TURN YOUR ARGUMENT INTO A TERRORIST THING!

Your comments are ignorant and hostile! Moving a ROCK!! People ride bikes and golf carts through that very path..what part of nature is that!
PS...CM do know about this box and have even participated!! And I am sorry, groundskeeper don't hike into the woods...Your argument holds no water. You are just throwing stupid, offensive things out...shame on you!

Betsy, thank you for inviting me over. I started reading the thread and thought "What a cool Idea!!!" Disney hs all sorts of hidden mickeys and things, this is just the sort of idea that would be a great way to encourage participation and continued patronage.

Majestic, I am going to VWL for the first time at the end of May. I was wondering if I will then be a WLVet?

As for some people who don't se the value of games like this, they have a sex problem.

I hope that you can replace the box before we go, it sounds like a fun game. I know of someone (high placed) in WDW that might be able to give this "game" official sanction. PM me and I will send you his name and e-mail address. If you write him a nice note explaining the game, the concept, the number of people participating, and even a link to this thread, he will probably (hopefully) put you through to someone who can give you an offical sanction...but the idea might get used by others tooo...

I don't have a problem, but am not having sex. ;)
This is more than a sex problem, this is a fun problem. Lame duck!

No offense, but hidden Mickeys are things that Disney puts there. If they wanted a scavenger hunt on their property they would organize one. :wave2: They have CM's that periodically walk through that area picking up trash. That's probably what happened to your box.

I dare because it happens. Who would have ever thought thatn a commercial airliner would be used as a weapon to inflict horror on so many innocent lives? I happened to be in Disneyland in October 2001, and someone decided it would be fun to spread some white powder around in DCA. So it can happen.

My argument holds water. It is not your right to place objects on someone elses property with out their permission. If the WL wants to have a memory box, they will be the ones to do so.

Now if one of you can show me concret proof that what you are doing is approved by WDW, then I will back off.

You all do realize that the leaves do get raked along the paths, and in the woods?

Try sending each other post cards, or better yet, start a WL Vet journal, pass it aouind amonst your selves throught the mail. Include pictures and what ever else you would have left in the now missing box. But don't tell me it's ok to place the box on the property. IF it is, then please send me your home addresses, so that I can do the same when I happen by your house.

I'd be glad to find a box of things that are NICE, FUN and meaningful in my yard. It was causing NO HARM.

You are the most offensive person and if I talk to you anymore, I will have a stroke...

My last thought:

I DON'T ASK MILLIONS OF PEOPLE TO COME BY MY HOUSE AND STAY ....BIG DIFFERENCE!!!

That is my whole point, I am sure WE can get official sanction for this game, it is a very Disneylike Idea.

I do not think a caretaker would remove it.

Betsy, I wasn't talking about you...

I think it could be a great addition to the Magical Gatherings. A kind of repeat thing...they could sell Memory box space for individuals...Right in the open, with a camera watching...Leave legacy? Leave a memory box...

:bounce:

I am going to ask nicely, please go away. If you continue to feel the need to ruin everyone elses fun do it somewhere else.

You have already made your point crystal clear and I don't agree with it. End of story.

Everyone please stop replying to this person to prevent further damage to the thread. It used to be all happy posts up until the war zone it became today.

If you don't care for the programming, change the channel. Let others enjoy what magic I believe came from the box regardless of your beliefs.

Thank you,

Fred

I HIGHLY doubt it. Just because you think you are special, doesn't mean you actually are. What happens when the next 100 groups of people think they are special too. Do you think Disney is going to let all those groups plants boxes on their property?

Actually, this is a public message board. I think Mickeyfan1 is free to post on any thread she wants so long as she doesn't violate board policy. If you want a private thread about your box, you are free to start your own message board. :wave2:

Congrats on your promotion to moderator and part owner of the board. Heaven forbid anything disrupt the pixie dust and happiness (and dare I say vandalism) of this cult.

Mickeyfan1 is not the only one that finds your antics odd. I would hope the staff at WL would dispose of any object left on their property that was not sanctioned by Disney. Knowing that they do this makes me feel safer, especially since my next trip will be in May '04 to... WL!!

Have a Disney day!

Thanks for pointing that out. Feel free to continue to spread your negativity.

Hope it makes you feel like a better person for doing so.

Fred

I have to say that I find you people incredibly idealistic if you think Disney will sanction this or allow it to happen unless they are able to maintain strict control over who has access to the container and what is placed into it.

These boards are read by thousands of people. Very easily, one of them could have decided to find your treasure chest and place items in it that whomever found it next might have found very objectionable. Use your imaginations, I'm not going to spell it out for you.

There is NO WAY the Wilderness Lodge is going to allow Tupperware containers to be mysteriously left along their paths. Hidden or not, marked or not. Surely you realize that is a time honored method for Drug Deals or worse to be carried out?

And before you start on the HOW DARE YOUs - no I'm not accusing anyone here of doing that, just trying to point out how Disney management would surely feel about this operation.

My "most likely" theory is that your container was found by the groundskeepers on a routine sweep of the property. It is possible that it was found by another guest. Either way, I'm glad you enjoyed it while it lasted, but I highly highly doubt that you will ever get Disney to agree with this scheme.

Enjoy that Special Bond you all share and move on to your next project. :)

Dec. '03 was my first stay at VWL and besides the Memory box treasure hunt, we shared in the delight of passing along a Christmas tree that went from DVC members. That tree and others will be making the rounds again from Thanksgiving to New Years this year.

Perhaps some sort of memory box that passes along like a baton would be acceptable.

The Cristmas tree was in our room when we arrived, placed there by thoughtful CM's.

Now, I have to add my own two cents into this apparent debate. Mind you, I've never participated in the whole WL box, nor have I looked high and low for it. I just always thought it was a neat idea, and kinda cute to boot.

With that, I have to agree with a few of the posters and tell you mickeyfan1, that I also find your comparison to terrorist acts, 9/11 in particular, without merit and downright offensive. I also lost loved ones, 9 friends to be exact. And to have a Chicken Little like you comparing an innocent game to a jumbo jet smashing into an office tower is ludicrous.

You were in Disneyland when someone decided to sprinkle white powder around? I live and work in New York City when someone decided to kill 3,000 of my friends and neighbors. And if you truly think a tupperware container of happy memories is comparable, then perhaps you should never leave your cocoon of a home, climb back into bed, pull the sheets over your head and quake and tremble in fear and terror.

You've made your point. It's been duly noted. Some don't agree. Just don't keep coming back to stir the pot. You're only succeeding in pissing off a few people who are simply having fun.
