This thread is for those that will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge and would like to go on a 30 minute or so hunt for the hidden memories box.
I left a Wilderness Lodge Memories Box somewhere on the property. See, I wanted to have a place where all us DIS'rs could go to sign our names and list our stay dates (arrive and depart) plus room numbers, WRITE DOWN WHERE YOU ARE FROM too, leave a pin or small trinket, take a pin or small trinket, photographs, etc.
Feel free to put a picture of you and yours in but make sure you print name and info on it so we know who you are. Put all pictures somewhere where light won't shine directly on them for obvious reasons. How about something from the local area you are from so we have an international collection of goodies?
It is a small tupperware box that has 2 long pencils, a sharpener, and plenty of index cards that are sealed within a plastic ziplock bag. I even included a few Alien Green Mickey Ears for those that couldn't find them and need one. The only thing I ask is that we are notified if any supplies are low or you can't find the box there. I did post a phone number to call in case it was found by a cast member and the box is clearly labled with a DO NOT DISCARD! IF FOUND CALL..... note on the lid. Please do NOT call the phone number ok? It's for emergencies only.
As for Pens and Crayons, keep in mind folks, that this box will get REALLY hot!! I made sure to put it in shade to help but pens and markers and crayons will MOST SURELY MELT OR EXPLODE!! That would really stink. My wife helped me realize that as I was planning this. This is why we settled on the plain old simple pencil and sharpener.
So, think before you put something in that could end up ruining the whole box.

I figured we now have one thing that connects us all and the lodge and it doesn't matter what time of year you go. It "should" always be there. Then, when you come back the next year, you can go back to it and see all the memories hidden within!!!
Here are the directions to the box. They are fairly easy. I didn't want to make it HARD to get to but I also needed to "HIDE" it so that it won't be stumbled on.
TAKE NOTE: When you go to the box, it may not be a bad idea to make sure that nobody else is around you. We really want to keep this hiding spot a secret.
It's been said that it may not be a bad idea to find a long stick for when you find the box. One may never know what's slithering around our precious box.
Take the path down to the marina where you rent the boats. At the Surrey Bicycles, make a right and head straight into the nature trail. Take the nature trail till you get to a y in the trail and see the first sign that says Nature Trail.
Walk up to the sign and face it directly. (Down the trail to your right you should see a road that has busses passing on it) Consider this 12:00 on a clock. Turn right till you get to about 4:00 or 5:00 and are facing a large tree. (You should see two large trees with a small thin one in the middle. It's the tree on the left. I put an X on it but it probably won't be there forever.)
Walk straight up to this tree . Once there, peek off to the left side and slightly to the left past it. There is a somewhat large bush with a thick tree branch / trunk laying on the ground. Walk up to the tree trunk on the ground and look on the ground on the left side of the bush.
You should see the box on the ground by now. If you do not, try these directions again. If you still don't find it, please post your results here so we know that it may be missing.
Also, whenever you find the box and fill in the card, post results here so we have an idea how many people are playing along. As a side note, PLEASE DO NOT post or email pictures of the box itself or the area it's in as it takes away from all the mystery around the box. We don't want to make it TOO easy for anyone to identify or find.
Most important of all....HAVE FUN! I for one will be PROUD to go back next year and open our box of memories!!!
