Wilderness Lodge Christmas carriage rides ...

Just found this on another thread over in the camping forum:
Call 407-939-7529 to make a reservation.

If you mean the Ft. Wilderness Christmas Carriage Ride, the number is the same as the one for the Halloween Ride: 407-939-7529 :thumbsup2

Can someone please provide a few more details on these carriage rides? And also when do they begin. We will be at vwl thanksgiving week and this might be a fun "new" activity to do

Thanks.

These Sleigh Rides are great! We have enjoyed them for a couple of years now in a row, generally the second week of December.

The Sleigh seat four adults and comes with a nice wool blanket for comfort if you need it.

The ride takes you through all of the decorated RV area of the campground. You will not be disappointed! The displays are generally over the top. I always wonder where these people put their decorations after the Christmas holidays.

It is a delight!

(And, yes, it is a sleigh with small wheels. In the past, most large sleighs had small wheel for those "Dry" patches! It is tough for the horse to drag your butt across the sticks and stones!)

I appreciate all of this great information, but I thought there was a sleigh ride from the Wilderness Lodge, too. Guess I misunderstood. Thanks. These all look fun.

Sounds like great fun. However we will be visiting Thanksgiving weekend as well and it doesn't start until December. :sad1:

In 2006 there definitely was a sleigh ride from WL too. Haven't been at Christmas since, but this one picked up riders right in front where the cars pull up. I'm not sure how to reserve it in advance...I'd contact WL and see what they tell you. Based on the official WDW website, it looks like they may only be in FW at this point, but it's worth looking into. :)

Yes, they used to have a sleigh ride from the front entrance of the WL and compared to the Fort Wilderness Christmas ride, it was a waste of money. I remember taking it and thinking that I would never do that again. We did the FW ride last year and it was amazing. They will even let you take a bottle of wine or other spirits to enjoy. We are doing it again this year with our BIL/SIL....and it is their first visit to WDW.

Way to hit first timers! (With experiences unique and not thought of as Disney World Rides!) So many of our family still gives the old "you going there again? Don't you get tired of it?"

Have a great wine, I mean time . . . .
