Please help me with buying a Wii! I'm clueless!

Once I buy the Wii itself, what else do I need to buy? We're a family of 4. How many remotes (Wii-motes??) come with the basic Wii game? Besides the extra remotes, what else would I need to get?

TIA!

Please see the first post in the thread in my signature. It answers all of your questions.

Sure! Feel free to ask anything else there or here, I'd be happy to help!

It comes with one Wii remote and one nunchuk, a stand so the Wii can "stand up" (My Wii stands), (including a round, clear stabilizer for the stand), the sensor bar, a stand for the bar, Wii Sports, and every cable you'll need is in the box. That's what it comes with, and it's all you need to get started.

Besides the three extra Wii remotes and nunchuks you'll have to buy, you don't need anything else other than games! The Wii doesn't use memory cards--it saves game data internally. Once this memory is full, you can use a camera SD card for data storage, but this shouldn't happen for a while.

Many stores, like Wal-Mart, have Wii bundles. For a little extra cash you can choose a game, extra remotes, etc. Not every bundle gives you an option, and comes with whatever is set. I noticed Wal-Mart had a lot of bundles on their website recently.

How old are your kids? I can give you game suggestions if you'd like. I'm a big video game fan. :) If you wanna know anything else I'll see if I can help!:thumbsup2

I am playing Zelda Twilight Princess again. Surprising my 44yo brain cannot remember the puzzles. I am trying not to look at the walkthru's however I have been looking. (I played it with a walkthru the first go round).:rolleyes1

So Spidey or harleyquinn, give me a good RPG on the Wii. I go to Best Buy and just don't know which one to pick. Do you play RPG's?

Thank you! You're all very helpful!

I know this is way ahead of time, but we're going to get the Wii for Christmas. I'd like to buy it soon and then buy a couple of games between now and Christmas. If you know of good games, our kids will be 13 & 11 in August. My kids have played Wii at friends' houses, but I've never played so I'm not too familiar with the games.
