Just wanted to started a new thread specifically just for Wii game titles and reviews. Maybe rate on a scale of 1 (being extremely bad) to 10 (being excellent.) The official Wii thread is awesome, it's just too long to search through just for a couple game suggestions.

Wii Sports (that comes with game console) - 10
We have had a blast with this game!

HSM Sing It! - 5
My DD (9) has played it once or twice, but that's about it.

Spiderman Friend or Foe - 7
The kids seem to like playing it, my DH & I could care less about even trying it. It doesn't really look fun. Plus, we can't figure out how to get 2 players going, so that's been aggravating.

Essentially it is Grand theft auto set in the time of the god father. It is quite playable for Adults only due to its Mature rating.
I (DH :stitch: ) is the one playing it. I find the controls easy to use and the game very complex yet fun because you can do other things than what you have listed as your game objectives. it will take a lot of time to complete it is is no old school mario.......

Rating an 8 due to maturity rating and the violence

We love Godfather for the Wii. My husband and I had a blast playing it.

We got Scarface hoping it would be as fun, but it isn't.

I bought Links Crossbow training (with the gun) for $19.47 at Target the other day and that has been the best game we have bought! I know it is just a minigame, but for a dunce like me, it is perfect - I am enjoying trying to beat my high scores over and over. I highly reccomend it for anyone who had the first nintendo system and liked Duck Hunt and Hogan's Alley (am I dating myself here? lol).

Mario and Sonic at the Olympics - fun, my son likes it if we play with him. (He's 7).

Playground - Fun

Carnival Games - Fun

We have a mess of other games but those are the ones we have been playing.

Oh - DS got M and M racing for Christmas - doesn't like that one too much.

Mario and Sonic Olympics--DH loves it and plays it more than the kids. 10

Lego Star Wars-the Complete Saga--DS9 plays this the most 8

GH III--everyone loves this one, even DS5 is getting in on the action! 10

Chicken Little--They've played it, but aren't ecstatic over it. 5

Petz Catz-this one is for DS5, it's kind of like Nintendcats for the DS, cute, but for the younger ones! 6

Shrek III - they have this one for PS2 also and got the Wii game as a Christmas gift, I don't think they have played it yet-not much interest

I would definitely recommend the Mario & Sonic Olympics game--it's alot of fun to watch people doing it too!

Super Mario Party 8 - This is getting the most play time at our house (DS13 and DD9).

Super Mario Galaxy - Fun
Wii Sports - Fun...but have found the baseball really hard to HIT!
Wii Play - Fun

Have other games that haven't really been played yet. I'll have to report on those later.

WII Sports - we all love it but we seem to be having a hard time figuring out how to get several remotes to work together on this one.

Mario Party - my 3 DDs love it, especially playing it together.

Carnvial - we all love it but DDs say they have unlocked everything. Hopefully we can find a way to get to a higher level.

HSM Sing It - very disappointed in this one. DDs are all big HSM fans but they have only played this a few times. They don't really seem to like it.

WII Play - DDs are enjoying it.

My Dh, husband, own children 15, 14, 11, & 8, and daycare children ages 4-11 love this game! I bought for my DH for his DEC b-day and he thinks it is the best present ever!:confused3 I myself don't get it and frankly get sick of hearing the same songs over and over but they all are addicted!

Disney Princess - 9
This is a super fun game if you are into the princesses. You get to dress up your princess and then run around the castle using your magic wand on special missions (helping Jasmine find the monkey, picking up jewels). My almost 6 year old loves this game. The only reason I didn't give this game a 10 is that the controls are a little hard for my DD but she will probably get better with practice.

Star Wars Legos - 10
This is all my DS7 wanted for Xmas and he loves it. Very cool that you can have two players in the same game and switch characters. Very intuitive and the wielding of the light saber never gets old.

Sports - 10
Everyone loves it.
We all love these games

Here are our reviews so far...

Super Mario Galaxy - 10 (this is my favorite game of ALL TIME! I'm up to 36 stars)

Thrillville Off the Rails - 9 DS7's favorite but he is a big amusement park fan. Great miningames (over 50) and much better building and ride experiences from the previous PS2 version

WarioWare Smooth Moves - 9 Super fun game for everyone. Really teaches you to use the Wiimote

Carnival Games - 9 Lots of fun for everyone and saves us a ton of money by not having to go to Dave & Busters :lmao:

Madden 08 - 8 DH likes it but says the controls are a bit awkward

MLB Power Pros - 8 Great baseball game. The whole family really enjoys it!

Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 - 8 Fun game. The kids enjoy it more than DH and I do. It is fun to watch them play.

Wii Sports - 7 Great game for them to include with the system!

Wii Play - 6 Worth the price for the extra remote but not great

Nicktoons Attack of the Toybots - 6 DS5 gives this a 6 because he says that it is fun sometimes but can be boring as well

Mario & Sonic at the Olympics - 5 By far our biggest disappointment. Just really isn't that fun.

We also have these but either they haven't been opened or played enough to rate

Lego Star Wars
Crash of the Titans
Super Monkey Ball
Big Brain Academy

We are looking to get Cars Mater National, Tiger Woods 08 and possibly Smarty Pants as well. If anyone has found a good fishing game yet, please let us know. We would love to have one and the Wii is the perfect system for it!

Just do you know I already have began adding reviews to the second post on the official Wii thread.

So I'll steal ones from here and add them there, so it'll all be organized and in one spot.

Cool?

And it would really really help if everyone gave it a rating and stated the ages of children in the family.

Can someone recommend games for my family? We are new to the gaming system stuff-the Wii is our first--and we have two DDs, 6 & 4. I bought this for DH to do something fun with the family (he's a workaholic) and so far, so good but need some games or he's gonna get bored with it quick! We've been renting them before plopping down $50 in case we don't like them:

We like Wii sports--especially bowling and boxing.
We rented Wii Play and DH LOVED it--especially the racing and shooting. But with no levels or anything, afraid it might get old if we bought it?
We rented Carnival and NO ONE was carried away with it. After reading reviews on threads here, I wonder if we are missing something?
We rented Rayman II and like it, but I think DH needs an "instant" fix--more mini game oriented, apparently, or something.

So, any suggestions for a whole family game. Especially with a racing part or maybe shooting (not the violent kind!) and maybe with mini games? Or at least a game that's not so difficult to "get"--I'm afraid if it's hard to figure out how to maneuver thru DH won't do it. Went to Best Buy out of town yesterday and GHIII was gone, of course, or I might have bought it and I just couldn't decide on anything else. Girls wanted HSM, of course, so it's good to know I'm not awful for not having bought it.

I have children of all ages in my home:

the older ones 8& up including DH love Guitar Hero 3 a 10!
Mary Party kids of all age love this game I think it is confusing but they all love it even the 4 year olds a 10! This one of the games own not just rent
Super Mario galaxy my girls 8& 11 like it but think it is challenging a 7. This is rented and I am debating whether to send it back or not?
Trilleville of rails DD 11 loved it but it was sent back to GF because she was the only one whom liked to play it, so I would rate it a 6,

Disney Princess my dd 8 played for maybe 10 minutes and she just couldn't
get into it. I was sure this would be a keeper; this is why I LOVE GAME FLY!
I would rate this a 5; maybe my daughter was to old for this not sure.

I think gamefly is the best because I don't get stuck with a game my kids hate! The price of Wii games isn't cheap; I figure this saves me $$$$!:goodvibes

All of the games you mentioned ARE mini game games, so I'm not sure that is the problem.

Since you're renting them, I would definitely keep doing that. Maybe try Wario Ware for the whole family and have DH try Rayman 1--it's not great for multiplayer, but it is basically a one player mini game game that has shooting levels and racing levels.

I would also probably try Mario Party 8. It's a game all of you can play together that has fun minigames that are easy to navigate. It's not the absolute best game, but I think it fits your family well.

Thank you for starting this thread. We don't have any young children
in our household , just adults over age 36

We have only played a few games so far.

Wii Play ,, 10 , We love ** alot of fun

Wii Sports ,, 9 We love

Carnival Games , would give this one a 10
we play it alot and dont get bored.

We have mario galaxy , rabbids 1 and 2 , bowling , and a few
others but have not opened them yet.
Still having alot of fun with the first 3.

Guitar Hero - 11
This is awesome! It has me addicted, which I would have never thought possible. I love DH who has been unlocking the additional songs for me!

Wii Sports - 10
The Graphics aren't the best but it is easy for anyone to play, including DS who's 3.

HSM Sing it - 9
I was surprised to hear negative reviews on this. We love this game! It definitely gets better as you unlock songs. It is a big hit with DS5 - we bought an extra microphone for Duets.

Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam - 9 DS5 & DH are addicted to this!!!

Mario & Sonic at the Olympics - 8
Cute games and definitely fun for all ages.

Super Mario Galaxy - 8
DS5 loves this - the graphics are great, although we probably need a little guidance to go from planet to planet - another thread would be needed for this.

We love love love our Wii - it is a great family activity - I am so glad I gave in!!! We are waiting patiently for a hockey game to come out!!
Happy Feet - 8
This was for DS3, so he could have his own game. Cuter than I expected, great songs.

Guitar Hero - 11

I have to agree. I had never picked up a GH until now. My kids got GH3 for xmas from Grandma, and it looked fun, so I started playing it on New Years. I haven't put it down. I blew thru the easy version right away, although the last boss gave me a little trouble. I started medium last night, and got thru the first couple of songs. Its a ton of fun with some great songs.

Where did you get the second microphone? I need one so my kids can do the duet? My kids keep fighting over the one mic.

Thanks,
Jennifer

This is our first game system & we just got it for Christmas from my parents. It is awesome for anyone still deciding!! DH/me around 40, DD13, DD7 & DS5 all love it.

Sports - 10 - something for everyone & boxing is great at burning some energy off DS! They all like the fitness testing. It's a big contest to see who gets to be the youngest each day.

Olympics - 7 - swimming is my fav & hilarious to watch. None of the kids enjoy it much after the first few days but I think it still has potential. A little hard for DS5.

SIms - 8 - fav of DD13 & DD7, I haven't played it and don't see the appeal as much as the DDs.

We have Happy Feet but I haven't given it to them yet since they are still enjoying the others. I'm glad to see it got a good review so far!

I was surprised how much DH & I like it too. DH is a big golfer & likes the wii version too.

I got it at Best Buy - You can check on line if they have it in the store near you, too - if you add it to the cart & check store pickup, but do not finish the transaction. It's made by logitech - but should come up if you do a search for Wii Microphone.

I also saw it online on amazon.com but didn't want to wait for it (or pay the shipping!!!)

HTH!!
