Am I right in thinking that there is now WiFi in rooms in the HNY? And if so, is it free? If not any idea of costs? Thanks for any information.

i have heard this also, i dont know if has been installed yet though.
would be good to know also?

fingers crossed it has then can post lots of info before bed on here! :rotfl2:

I think the only free WiFi in DLP is McDonalds and Starbucks. Its payable in the onsite hotels. Not sure of current costs though.

Found the following on DLRP Magic, so dont know if has been rolled out yet to HNY.

Your 2013/2014 holiday to Disneyland Paris might now feel a lot more like a 21st Century experience. Lagging behind for years in internet access offering, Disneyland Paris has made a surprise sudden move towards offering more widespread — and crucially, free — Wi-Fi access across the resort.

Announced late on Monday was that the prestigious Disneyland Hotel now offers free Wi-Fi access. Then, on Tuesday, the official Twitter feed of the resort followed that up by confirming free Wi-Fi would be rolled out gradually within the next year to all other Disney Hotels, along with convention centres, Golf Disneyland and even Disney Village.

Free Wi-Fi is now arguably considered as important as other hotel room fixtures such as a television. From previously offering only patchy and expensive Wi-Fi access in only the four higher tier Disney Hotels, this move will add some much-needed additional value back to those — many say — overpriced “on property” room nights. Guests have in the past been faced with the frankly absurd situation that, for example, the ultra-basic €52 per night Ibis Budget over at Val d’Europe offered free Wi-Fi, but the €459 minimum Disneyland Hotel did not.

The inclusion of Disney Village in these plans is interesting. Could that be a commercial decision, to make the entertainment district more inviting for visitors to “dwell” longer, or could it even be an easier test bed for eventually covering the whole of the resort — and both parks — by free Wi-Fi? Last year, Walt Disney World began offering free Wi-Fi to visitors within its Magic Kingdom park, with plans to roll it out to all four parks and Downtown Disney over there too.

Besides giving guests what they now see as an almost essential home comfort, providing free Wi-Fi will also exponentially increase the number of status updates, photos and videos posted to social media websites during guests’ stays, especially at Disneyland Paris where many guests have had to avoid “roaming” charges for foreign networks, giving the Disney Parks perhaps their most powerful ever marketing tool: us.

Great, long overdue.

I wish they'd fit better tv's too (in all the hotels) so you can plug in a portable dvd player or something. Not such an issue now our kids are getting older, but when they were young and we ended up back at the hotel by 8pm, it's a heck of a long night.....

So currently all of disneyland hotel?, and just bedrooms at HNY? anywhere else?

I wonder which hotel is next?!

All of HNY now has Wi-Fi and the convention centre at the Newport Bay Club. (Some parts of the hotel can pick up the convention centre signals but it is weak).

I understand that the Sequoia Lodge is next on the list then Hotel Cheyenne followed by Hotel Santa Fe and Golf Disney.

Then it will be the Disney Village, and finaly the Newport Bay Club is being installed when refurbishment works starts in the autumn.

Of course the schedule is lliable to change.

I thought I had seen something about this before :confused3:confused3 Do you have any more information on the NPB refurbishment....we are booked for September 2013 for a very special birthday trip and I am now wondering if we should consider moving as I wouldn't want lots of building work going on round about us :headache:

Thank you

K

All I know is that it is due to start this autumn and it's going to take a long time to refurbish all the hotels 1,098 bedrooms.

There should not be any external scaffolding as the clapboard exterior of the building was refurbished in 2011. They close off a floor at a time so the refurbishment work being carried out in the bedrooms and corridors do not inconvenience guests.

I was staying in the Sequoia Lodge when the main building was being refurbished and you would not know it was going on. We never heard any noise at all as all the work was being carried out in the day time when we were in the parks.

oh thank you very much, that sounds perfectly manageable, lets just hope its not any of the rooms with balconies as I requested [although not guaranteed]the lakeside rooms with balconies [we can always hope].

thanks again :goodvibes

No WiFi in rooms at HNY yet. We've just returned from five nights there and were told that there is only paid Ethernet in the bedrooms. :sad1:

Does anyone know if there is wifi at the Sequoia yet? My parents are going and want to know if they should bother bringing a computer. Thanks in advance!
