Wife Swap tonight

At the very end when they showed the update, the raw meat wife looked horrible. She was so pale and her eyes had bags under them. She looked ill.

She hadn't had high meet in almost two weeks. You might look ill too:lmao:

I really want to know if they made up that name or if there really is something called high meat. I am surprised the family would take a chance being on the show since I have to imagine someone will be investigating them. I have to give city mom a lot of credit because I don't think they could pay me enough to stay in that house  .

Honestly, I can *almost* see the crazy lady's point about the germs and chemicals. I do think maybe we're over antibacterializing ourselves, and when you think about the amount of chemicals the average family keeps in their home.... it is kind of disturbing. And we wonder why the cancer rate seems to be increasing? :sad2:

That being said, I'm not throwing away my toothpaste anytime soon! :rolleyes1

Agree. There is a happy medium, and it is somewhere in between the two families, lol. Not everything needs to be bleached to be clean and you should be aware of what you eat and how it is prepared, but I would never in a million years kill my own meat. Ick!

I do agree with you about the whole antibacterial frenzy. Lots of experts have said we're breading super germs because of these products. That being said white vinegar and baking soda work wonders to clean and sanitize naturally. There are lots of options that don't involve living in filth.

The crazy lady claimed she *did* use vinegar, but only when she deemed necessary. But I am guessing since the family did not bother to wash their hands after dealing with the animals and before preparing their food, I do not thing she deems it necessary very often.

Does anyone know if they air the episode again....say another day or time, so I could tape it? OR, are they online somewhere? I didn't watch it, and now wish I had. Maybe. lol I'm just really curious to see this now.

Maybe peekvid.com will put it up at some point?

That family gave Iowa a bad name! I hope people realize even for Iowa those people were weirdos.

I think they call it 'high meat' because you have to be high to eat it.

Watching them last night almost made me sick, too. I couldn't believe how gross it was, and I'm not a huge germophobe. Just watching the dad down that disgusting old meat made me gag. I also wonder how they can get away with not sending their kids to school? :confused3 I'm betting DCFS or whatever will be visiting them REAL soon, if they haven't already.

And brushing your teeth with butter and clay? Um..how is THAT good for your teeth? :confused3 :faint:

I don't know how I managed to get through the whole episode without puking my guts out. I usually have an iron stomach but that made me just want to go pay homage to the porcelin gods.

And the fact that the kids aren't even homeschooled and the son seems to ahve some mental issues, I truly hope that the state intervenes. That goes beyond not normal, that's simply a neglectful if not abusive situation.

I do believe the son said he learns or practices math by counting how many eggs he gets from the chickens, does that count as schooling? ;)

As much as I'm a germaphobe, I don't take it to the extreme. I wash my hands after using the bathroom, touching raw meat, before starting to prepare meals, the normal times that anyone (I hope) would do so. But I don't carry hand sanitizer and use it constantly--in fact I think the last time I used it was at a festival type concert with only porta-johns and no handwashing facilities. :scared: After I used the Porta-John I cleaned my hands with a baby wipe brought along because I know better, then used hand sanitizer.

I don't constantly spray every surface of my home with disinfectant, I don't own a can of Lysol and never will--that stuff is nastier than the germs it kills! I use many of the same cleaners that my mom did--Mr. Clean, Soft Scrub, bowl cleaner, bleach, Windex, Dawn dish soap and Cascade in the dishwasher. I don't find a need to use a germ killer in my laundry, if it's something I'm worried about being germy--like bath towels--I wash in super hot water on the sanitize cycle.

I do believe that overuse of cleaners and even more so anti-biotics have contributed to super germs, but I also think that keeping a home clean and tidy can be done without going overboard.

Not sure if it would count as schooling, but I guess it could count towards skoolin'. :rolleyes1

Thats it you are off my next "High Meat Party" list and at this one we were gonna stock up on stuff in case we lose power for 6 months :rotfl:

I liked how both the raw mom and dad mentioned "being prepared if disaster strikes." They both seemed so paranoid. These people scare me. I get the feeling one of them, maybe the son, will become the next Unabomber or something! He looks like he will snap one day.

I'm still recovering from watching this episode. I've watched Fear Factor, I've watched gory horror movies, I am enthralled with watching medical procedures being performed but watching this show was the very first time I actually got up and vomited. All that went through my mind while watching it was how meat products smell when they go bad; like in your fridge :scared: Then when they showed the nasty milk/yogurt substance...dear Lord, I just couldn't take it. Of course I kept watching, but it wasn't easy!

I would really like to ask RawFamily if they are prepared for a Nuclear type attack. Sure, they are fine if the power is out for days or weeks at a time; but any type of nuclear attack would destroy their farm animals, even a nasty storm would taint the animals (although, I think nasty rain might be better than the conditions they prepare their food in now). I think the Apocolypse excuse was just that, an excuse. I think they belong to some weirdo cult because every website I've researched on raw diets talks about eating raw veggies, fruits, etc and warns and prohibits eating raw meats of any kind.

The whole raw family looks ill, they are pale, they all had bags under their eyes..absolutely no signs of life at all.

That is how we like it. You buy all the supplies and we arrive with guns and take if from you for free. Virtually no work on our part.:thumbsup2

That was so nasty. All I have thought about today was the raw meat. also those kids had cramps from eating cooked food. Dose anyone why?popcorn::
