Wi-Fi, iPhones and androids

Hi! One final stupid question before we sail on June 3rd. I have a small business and both of my employees have androids and I have an iPhone. Will I still be able to text them with the Wi-Fi package? I’m sorry I’m not tech savvy, Thanks for the kind help in advance!

I would recommend considering WhatsApp for your trip. I have an iPhone and have friends with androids. We were able to freely chat with one another and send pictures back and forth and I did not have to purchase any wifi! This was in February on the Fantasy.

As far as I can tell, Android and iOS still don't play nicely with RCS. Mostly because Apple refuses to play nicely. So, you'll need a cell network connection for SMS.

Sometimes, WhatsApp works. It doesn't always work. Also, it's WhatsApp, which isn't something that I would ever use.

I wouldn’t bank on SMS working via WiFi. WhatsApp should work if they are willing to do.

We've used Whatsapp for iphone to android conversations with no issues.

I used WhatsApp the entire time on my sailing 2 weeks ago. In fact, it worked more reliably in communicating with my family onboard than the DCL messaging app
