With all the rumors Disney has not said anything and have repeatedly just ignored them and said their nothing to report. And now they canned the resorts and parks segment at d23 which we remember they announce new fantasyland at. So what stopping Disney from saying at least one if the lands. It can't be the share holders because with universal building as much as they are it has to cause concern to the share holders enough to want a response from iger. Is it their waiting till iger gone and give the new CEO the glory of building new things. Or is it they don't want to take away from dca by building cars land in Dhs. It just so weird that their so many rumor and things that are beyond rumors for Disney not to put it to rest by saying yes they are planing on doing something or no their not. I understand they want to get it right but if they say yes we are building both lands and are still in early stages and can't share to much yet that would put the rumors to rest.

Something is about this over in Rumors and News. I posted over there too, but I basically think there has to be something brewing but for some reason they aren't saying much.

I know their a reason but with some many site reporting things you think they just come out and say something more then their nothing to report now. I don't know if it has to do with avatar land since they may open around the same time frame that James Cameron not happy and that why their not saying anything.

Well as of right now, I'm not surprised at them not saying anything about carsland or Starwars Land. There has to be something worth announcing for them to announce it. They also would have to factor in any potential cannibalization that may occur if the do announce something.

Not to mention D23 starting to seriously lose it's prestige internally, if evidenced by the fact they are literally giving away memberships now.

With Star Wars Land, Quite frankly, Disney hasn't owned Lucasfilm and the Star Wars rights long enough to really put together a comprehensive idea on how to best expand upon the licensing within the parks. There may have been some blue sky ideas sitting on a shelf, but definately not anything in a place ready to be announced.

Carsland in Florida... I'm personally still not convinced it's ever going to happen. RSR is basically the same core ride as Test Track with different theming and a few additional features... but I'm not sure the differences are enough for Disney to think it's worth spending the money and building it just down the street from the other attraction. It would be almost like them taking the Indy Ride from DL and putting it in the MK, even though Dinosaur is the same attraction w/ a different theme.

Then you also would have the fact that it would undermine one of the big advantages and goals of the Existing Carsland. Burbank has been trying to elevate the Disneyland Resort into a full fledged destination resort, and not just a place that attracts local and regional guests. Obviously, they don't expect a 7 day+ resort like they have in Florida, but they are hoping for a solid 3+day resort, and Carsland was placed and positioned to help be a major draw to help differentiate the California Property from the Florida Properties. To build yet another clone in Florida would once again rob California of a true unique mass-appeal draw..... and I'm not entirely sure if management is that stupid.

And then you have the straight up internal cannibalization issue. New Fantasyland has had mixed results from some of the rumblings I've heard (ie. not as strong a draw as was expected). You have the Mine Train still to open. the Avatar project is still preparing to break ground (with all sorts of mixed feelings from the disney fan community)... And Disney is continuing to work towards pricing themselves as a "once in a lifetime" or "Once every few years" destination. If Disney announces something with as much rumor traction (wish I believe is mostly based off wishful thinking and not based on any legit sources) as Star wars or Cars in Florida, They could very likely shoot themselves in the foot by convincing large numbers of guests to hold off on their visit another couple years until these areas open..... thereby hurting any return they'd see from New Fantasyland or Pandora.....especially with the construction timetables Disney works on.

Contrast that to Universal lately. They've been waiting until construction is well underway before they make the official announcement. This leads to a shorter window between mainstream media buzz and the attraction opening. They've also been pretty consistent with new things lately, Which when combined with their much more affordable pricing, make it less likely that someone will decide to put off their trip for a couple years until the next big opening.

Very good points indeed. Along the same lines as what I was thinking. They have been doing some things, like over at AK moving FOTLK to a new location, which leads the rumors of Avatarland but that seems to be all in a mess from what I have heard or seen, but that is from the whole community. Then you have, if this is still true, the parade changes @ DHS and where the building that houses those things is going to be vacant, tore down, or (?) I don't remember exactly so someone can give me insight on that, so then the rumors fly about Star Wars Land.

Whatever the case is, I just think they have got ideas and/or the wheels are in motion and they are being cautious on things. We know Fantasyland changed from the originally from the concepts that I had seen, if I remember correctly. So yeah, let them move stuff around, start some ground work and then make an announcement when stuff is really moving.

While your right but that where they made the new fantasyland announcements. And that was a surprise now you have site and people reporting things so why not just make some announcement that they are planing something and not give details. I guess your right when te mayor of Orlando said harry potter would open next year universal got upset because they didn't want tools any announcement until they announced the transformer ride. But now you have people listening to the rumor and waiting any way so why not just come out say yes we doing it but not give any details of it.

Actions speaks louder then words you have all these rumors and Disney all they say is their nothing to announce yet. Which make people go with the rumor and start thinking what going to happen get all hyped up then if and when they announce something and it not as big as the rumors or as big as everyone things it be people will be disappointed and think it a bad move.

Then you have the d23 expo where in the past the announced fantasyland and everyone thinks they will make an announcement for cars land and Star Wars land. But they cancel it not have it and talk about something else or use it to talk about Disney springs and avatar land more just cancel it. Which leads people to think their not doing it or other things.

I just wonder I they are so surprised at universal rapid growth that they are not willing to make a huge announcement so it won't look like they trying to keep up. Because in the past it was universal that was the one playing catch up. So while I want them to do it right and if that means waiting then I fine with it but the rumors are going to keep getting worse and then it make Disney look bad.

Well I see you really want them to say something! :) I would like that too but what do you want to hear? "Yes we are doing Star Wars Land" That wouldn't be enough. Then rumors would still surface about where @ DHS, what attractions etc etc. So I don't think them saying just that is going to satisfy us. At least it wouldn't. I am not just saying this, but I really think they are up to something, I just get that feeling. With all the rumors floating around, its just too weird for something not to be going on. They might be doing something REALLY HUGE and don't want ANYTHING leaked out no matter how much they tell us, little or alot.

The other day I heard on a podcast about them concreting in Echo Lake. I don't know if that was Star Wars related or for something else. There is just too much rumors around about DHS and I think it's driving us ALL CRAZY and we just want to hear something. I will trust if they are up to something that they have a VERY GOOD reason why they aren't saying anything. That is just my opinion.

Have they learned to wait longer to announce things? We can find some things they have said that have never surfaced or have changed going back to Africa @ Epcot (I have a picture of that in an old Epcot book I have), Hyperion Wharf @ Downtown Disney (am I right on that?) and even changes in the New Fantasyland. Those are just a few that I recall off top my head.

How does that make Disney look bad? As soon as the got Lucasfilm, the rumors got shot out of a cannon!! And they haven't stopped!! With something like that type of acquisition, that is going to happen. Its the Disney Fan community that has added fuel to the fire, and I am probably one of them. It just takes one person to say something on a forum like this to start a rumor and with all of us maybe doing it of course there are going to be thousands of them floating around. That's they way it is now with the internet ! ;)

Yes I want to hear out of iger mouth they are soon something:). I was just pointing out that Disney is basically taking every step not to even say anything. Hyperion what should never even been announced and I am waiting to see if Disney spring will ever come to life. I doubt it will but your right I guess it better to let every site make rumors and get every one stirred up just to find out their doing nothing.

I didn't think that went through when they bought them people thought Disney was going to build a another whole park. That didn't happen and then their was rumors they build a land in both Dhs and dca but it didn't take off as much as these new ones.

It makes Disney look bad by not building any thing and just let universal keep up staging them. It also looks bad when they cancel things that could have been the time to announce things. I think you and dctoo tall are right about it I no trying to argue I was just pointing out something I also think the worse thing they did was announce avatar land then just let it go on with no much announcement. So I guess they have finally learned their lesson just thought they was far enough in the planning for at least cars land to make some sort of announcements.
Plus is dose not help when they bring Disney land president and make him the new president of Disney world and bring some of the tema that worked on cars land to Disney world that what keeps those rumors alive more.

No problem, no argument between. We just both expressing our points. I would love to hear something to. Unfortunately, time for some patience I guess. popcorn::

Yes we will wait and see well as long as it happens in some shape or form I be happy. If they just build flo v8 cafe and that it then I be very happy.

The sad thing their has been a rumor for a long time they would be a monster bind roller coaster next to you story mania. That was te rumor that wouldn't die. And they make another monster movie and it dose good I guessing Disney now saying we should have built it.

You don't think disney springs is going to come to life? They have already started construction. And pleasure island is getting demolished as we speak. Rumors are rumors without rumors the boards would be pretty boring.

Nothing has happened yet because they have only owned lucasfilms for less than a year. You can't just develop a park ride or land in less than a year announce and build it. Universal cant even do that. I don't think they're ready to build anything yet. Without anything set your not going to announce it its common business sense. I strongly believe something is coming but disney is just not ready and they are learning there lesson like you said thats why nothing is being said.

Your right I not saying start right now but they can at least make an announcement about it. But I rather them get it right then rush it I just thought it was strange that they canceled the resort and parks segment in d23 when they could of take about other things if they didn't want to make any big announcements.

By the way if a company like Disney can't come up with at least so ideas with in a year then their in trouble. I never said they should start construction right away of course not but with the rumor going around and with Disney being Disney I am sure they could announce something . I also believe that they was thinking about this before they even bought them so they had more then a year to come up with something.

You see it in the merchandise how they show in their influence wait to the holidays their supposed to be some nice shirts and other Star Wars stuff. You seen this year with Star Wars weekend them putting Mickey in the show.

I think the main reason they haven't said anything is there isn't anything to report. Of the two coming to DHS iI think cars land is more likely, as there is not really much they can do with Star Wars that they haven't really done. I could see maybe a counter service restaurant becoming the cantina from the first movie, but that's about it.

Cars land on the other hand I've heard rumors that they are trying to figure out how to add catastrophe canyon to it as it's not really easy fro them to remove, apparently the main fuel tanks for all the fire effects in DHS (Catastrophe Canyon, Indy and Fantasmic) are all housed behind/ with in it.

Yeah that will be tough but if they rework it a little they could use it to do something unique in dhs that different then Dca the funny thing is with the Star Wars rumor they saying they take away Indy show. If they could work it into the que for the racer ride they just have replace the gas truck with Mack and some other car characters but we have to wait and see.

Ot their reports that universal is bringing King Kong to Orlando and maybe updating Jurassic park in 2015 but that could also just be a rumor we have to see if Disney ever decides to announce anything. Or if they let keep letting universal have all the fun and build everything and make things new.
