Why would anyone care how MY trip went?

That's what I always thought as I read these reports, but now I find myself writing one anyway. I like to relive my trips by reading about other people's trips, so maybe someone will think of their trip as they read this.

Anyway, my husband (Joe), 14 mo. old son (Ryan) and I went from Oct. 5-10 and had a great time. I thought Ryan would be too young to appreciate most of it, but I was wrong - he had a great time. And we had fun watching him (guess this is what parents do?).

I had faxed over our room preferences to POFQ (non-smoking, king size bed, centrally located) and boy was I happy I did. We got a perfect room, #5223. Right on a corner overlooking the river. Ryan loved to go from window to window pointing out boats. And it was a 2 min. walk to the pool, food court, etc. I'm going to fax a thank you to the room assignor people. The registration and housekeeping people were another story...Took 30 min. to check-in, 5 hr.s and 3 phone calls to get a crib, ref., hair dryer and extra pillows (I asked for them all at once when we got in the room).

We had a great dinner at Boma (delicious!) and went to AK on Sun. All the animals were probably inside the AC somewhere, watching TV as we wandered around in the heat looking for them. I don't know if I'm getting old or if I spend too much time in the AC so I'm not used to the heat. Anyway, I felt like I was sweating the whole 5 days. I don't know how people do it in the summer. But we had fun anyway.

Sun. we went to MK. Most of the crowds seemed to be in Fantasyland. Made the mistake of taking Ryan on the Pirates of the Caribbean (I didn't remember the first drop being THAT steep or THAT dark), and it didn't help that we were in the first row or that we came out into the middle of the pirate ship battle. Ryan cried thru most of it and I'm sure people were thinking what a terrible mother I was. But he loved Its a Small World (went on that 3 times in a row out of guilt), the carousel, Winnie the Pooh, etc. We got his first official haircut at the Barbershop in Main St. They were great! He got his own mouse ears with "First Haircut" written on them, stickers, a lock of his hair, and a certificate with his name on it. Billie was really nice and had lots of toys to occupy him. Plus this is a good spot to watch the 3PM parade - they go right by outside.

We spent the next day at the pool, DTD and the Boardwalk. I loved the boardwalk - very romantic with the sunset while the lights went on (for all of 2 min. in between chasing Ryan and keeping him from putting his head thru the bars in the fence). They wouldn't pass the building code for decks up by us, I'm surprised Disney hasn't changed the fences. One CM mentioned a kid got his head stuck and they had to grease him up to get it out.

Went back to MK on Wed. but had to leave 45 min. later cuz Ryan had a melt-down. Cried for 45 min. straight, which is not like him at all. Of course it cleared up with some internal combustion problems (aka gas) as we reached the room. But it worked out anyway cuz we ate lunch, napped and went back out around 4:00 to the MK. Caught Spectromagic - I was surprised cuz I thought it only ran on Sat.

We lucked out with the food. Boma was great and Chef Mickey's was a lot of fun. Ryan hugged every character that came by and Joe couldn't get enough pancakes. Wasn't too crazy about the POFQ food court. Boatwright's was pretty good. Wolfgang Puck's was pretty tasty (4 cheese pizza was very good). And the Dole whip thing in the MK was my favorite.

All in all a wonderful trip. Can't wait to bring Ryan back. My suggestion for anyone going with a baby - rent a car! We were spoiled by not waiting for any buses, and it was handy when he had his melt-down for a quick exit. Also rent a ref., it was very handy for his milk, yogurt, and our drinks.

we were there labor day weekend and the melting that occured on my body was unbelievable....I love to watch the little kids interact with the charactors....brings back when we took our grandson and he hugged everyone of them...even the ugly queen of hearts.....thanks again...and yes we all read the reports...

I just wrote on the Tip Boards about using your car instead of buses . I can't believe people with a car would rather stand in line, maybe stand up, and ride those jerky buses.

and the busses were not that bad.....we have never rented a car and we don't really think we need one....we have stayed at value....moderates and also deluxe resorts...this past april we had an older person in a wheelchair and still did not encounter any problems...they were efficient and very nice

Of course we want to read your report! I love to read about other peoples trips because it helps me in planning my own! Plus, I like to read about the enjoyable experiences that other people have had at WDW!

Thanks so much for sharing your trip with us!
